On February 15, a VTC (Vocational Training Council) delegation of four members, including Executive Director Tong Chi-keung and Deputy Executive Director Shum Jiu-fai, visited SZPT for exchanges. SZPT Party Secretary Yang Xinbin and Vice President Li Yue attended the symposium, which was chaired by Li Yue.

On behalf of SZPT, Yang Xinbin extended a warm welcome to the delegation led by Tong Chi-keung and stated that SZPT attached great importance to the cooperation with VTC. He introduced to the guests SZPT’s basic situation, school-running characteristics, school-enterprise cooperation, high-level teaching staff cultivation, innovation and entrepreneurship, and pace of “going global”. He expressed the hope that the two sides would further deepen cooperation and work hand in hand to set up a model of cooperation for vocational education in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

Tong Chi-keung expressed his gratitude for the warm reception of our leaders. He said that SZPT and VTC had been cooperating for many years and hoped that the two sides could carry out a variety of exchange activities after the resumption of customs clearance. Tong also introduced VTC’s current situation, construction of new campus, and development of intelligent teaching.

At the meeting, the two sides had in-depth discussions on the agenda of the opening ceremony of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Featured Vocational Education Park and Vocational Education Services (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd., Shenzhen-Hong Kong joint talent training program, student exchange activities and other issues. The meeting atmosphere was warm, where both sides actively spoke, expressed their opinions, and reached agreement on a number of cooperation programs.

After the meeting, Tong Chi-keung and his delegation visited the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Featured Vocational Education Park jointly built by SZPT and VTC. The simple and elegant decoration style as well as the warm and comfortable office environment of the park won unanimous praise from VTC colleagues. Meanwhile, they firmly affirmed the efficient construction of the park. Tang Kesheng, Director of the Office of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs, Yu Faqin, Deputy Director of the Office of Logistics & Infrastructure, and other relevant persons attended the reception.

Visiting the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Featured Vocational Education Park.

The Vocational Training Council (VTC), established in 1982, has 13 institutional members, including the Technological and Higher Education Institute of Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Design Institute, the Youth College, the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education, the School of Business and Information Systems, the Office of the Director of Apprenticeship and the Vocational Training Group for the Disabled, as well as more than 40 colleges and training centers. About 250,000 students are trained each year, including 50,000 full-time students. SZPT signed a letter of intent on cooperation with VTC on September 23, 2004. Since then, there has been frequent visits and exchanges between the leaders, teachers and students of the two sides.
