Sino-German Center

In January 2022, Shenzhen Polytechnic University established the"Sino-German Center for Higher Vocational Education Innovation"(hereinafter referred to as "the Center") to deepen industry-education integration and school-enterprise cooperation, further promote the reform of education approaches, school-running models, and management mechanisms, learn from the "dual education system", introduce high-quality resources from Germany, Switzerland and Austria and facilitate the development of an internationally advanced vocational education system with Shenzhen's characteristics. The Center is an international cooperation and exchange institution established to explore innovative ways of cooperation in Sino-German higher vocational education.

Shenzhen Polytechnic University has been working closely with enterprises, associations, and higher education institutions in Germany. In 2019, it established the "Overseas Vocational Education and Training Center" in cooperation with Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University. In 2019, it signed theMemorandum of Cooperation on the Construction of Universities of Applied Technologywith Fachhochschule Dortmund and the German Chambers of Commerce Abroad and joined the Dortmund Competence Center China (DCC). In 2020, it worked together with Siemens on the "Sino-German Intelligent Manufacturing Digital Engineering Innovation Center". Relying on the existing international cooperation experience and taking the "Double High-Level Initiative" as an opportunity, the Center will further deepen and expand its cooperation with Germany.

The Sino-German Center is affiliated with the Foreign Affairs Office of Shenzhen Polytechnic University and has four staff members now. Martin Fleischer, former Consul-General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Guangzhou, serves as the Director of the Center.

II. Scope of Responsibility

1. Develop Sino-German higher vocational education cooperative programs, organize and coordinate relevant faculties, and coordinate with universities of applied science and enterprises in Germany and Switzerland.

2. Assist in the development of the Sino-German College of Intelligent Manufacturing, introduce Germany's vocational standards and educational training resources, and build the Sino-German SME school-enterprise cooperation platform and the training platform for senior skilled workers.

3. Follow up on the actual development needs of relevant faculties, implement the localization transformation of Germany's dual education system for vocational education, and assist in the formulation of program curriculum.

4. Promote the industry-education integration and school-enterprise cooperation between China and Germany in relevant faculties and assist in the introduction and coordination of Germany's enterprises, industries, industrial standards, and professional qualifications.

5. Conduct research and training on Sino-German higher vocational education.

6. Update and maintain the Center's WeChat official platform.

7. Make and implement the Center’s fiscal plan.

8. Complete other tasks assigned by leaders and superior departments.
