In the afternoon of May 18, 2023, the Shenzhen Liaison Office of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government and the Shenzhen Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in Hong Kong held the “Hong Kong Employment and Recruitment Policy Counseling Meeting & Dinner Exchange” to introduce Hong Kong’s employment environment and recruitment policy to Hong Kong students studying in Shenzhen and Mainland students who wish to pursue their career in Hong Kong. The Office of Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan Affairs Office of SZPT organized 15 students to participate in the event.

First, Mr. Wu Qiancheng, Deputy Director of Shenzhen Liaison Office of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, and Ms. Cai Yingtong, Senior Inspector of Recruitment Unit of the Hong Kong Police Force, shared the application requirements and procedures for applying for civil service posts in the HKSAR Government. Then, Mr. Mo Jiawei, Chief Immigration Officer of the HKSAR Government Office in Guangdong, shared Hong Kong’s latest policy on attracting Mainland talents. Finally, Mr. Lin Mu, Deputy Director of Human Resources of China Everbright Holdings Limited, shared some of Hong Kong’s employment environment and job interview skills, allowing students to have an in-depth understanding of the current situation and future development direction of different industries, providing more references and ideas for students’ career planning.
When it came to the free question session, based on the contents introduced above, the students were eager to ask questions, showing their strong interest and willingness to go to Hong Kong for employment.
After the Q&A, the HKSAR Government also organized a dinner exchange for the students attending the counseling meeting, the speakers, the invited representatives of Hong Kong enterprises and the young people starting businesses in Shenzhen, with the purpose of enabling the students to have a better understanding of the recruitment needs of Hong Kong, enhance their knowledge about the industries in the Bay Area, and improve their communication skills and self-confidence, so that students can better demonstrate their strengths and characteristics.
