On May 25, SZPT participated in the “Aged Care and Health” segment of Vocational College Students Skills Competition of Guangdong Province for the first time and won good results. The segment was held in Guangzhou. The student Weng Huiting, instructed by the teacher Ren Lili from the major of nutrition and health in the School of Food and Drug, won the first prize and got the ticket to the national competition.

According to reports, the segment actively responded to national strategic requirements raised at the Party’s 20^th National Congress to accelerate the development of health, elderly care and other related industries and strengthen elderly health services, further promote the “combination of medical and health care”, and “increase the training of elderly care talents”, implemented the fundamental task of moral cultivation, and gave play to the role of the competition in “flagging, navigation, calibration and catalysis” for vocational education, aiming to improve the vocational honor and confidence of students in aged care and health related majors, establish a benchmark for aged care services, and solidly promote the reform of vocational education. The segment was organized by Guangzhou Health Science College, with 16 teams of 16 college students participating.
