School of Electronic and Communication Engineering Won Two Grand Prizes and One First Prize in Huawei ICT Competition

The team led by the teacher Wang Yongxue won the first prize of the cloud track

On April 13, the award ceremony of the National Final of 2023 Huawei ICT Competition was held in Sanya, Hainan Province. The School of Electronic and Communication Engineering won two grand prizes and one first prize in the national final. Among them, the students Hong Ziyin, Wu Jialun and Wu Jiahong, instructed by the teacher Wang Su’nan from the School of Electronic and Communication Engineering, won the national grand prize of the network track; the students Chen Chengxi, Sun Minghui and Guo Runquan instructed by the teacher Liang Guangmin won the national grand prize of the computing track; the students Zheng Danru, Liang Hongxi and Huang Haolun instructed by the teacher Wang Yongxue won the national first prize.

Huawei ICT Competition is an annual ICT competition held by Huawei for global college students. At present, it has become an international competition and communication platform for college students around the world, aiming to cultivate students’ ICT knowledge level and practical ability, and contribute to the development of global digital economy. Over 70,000 persons from more than 1,200 colleges and universitiesnationwide participated inthis year’s Huawei ICT Competition. SZPT won awards in all three vocational tracks (network track, computing track and cloud track), fully demonstrating the achievements of the integration of industry and education between SZPT and Huawei in talent training.

At the award ceremony, President Xu Jianling was particularly invited to deliver a report entitled “Join Hands with Huawei to Cultivate High-level ICT Talents”, introducing the cooperation process and talent training results between SZPT and Huawei, and explained in detail the functional positioning and development planning of ICT Academy Support Center (IASC), the first ICT technical support center in China. It is reported that the first teacher training session of IASC was held simultaneously on April 13. Teachers from more than 40 colleges across the country came to SZPT for learning Huawei Harmony OS application development technology.

In addition, the School of Electronic and Communication Engineering also won the 2023 Excellence Huawei ICT Academy Award, which is the third consecutive year that SZPT has won this award.
