OnApril 7-9, the “Tour Guide Service”segment of 2022-2023 Guangdong Vocational College Student Professional Skills Competition was heldin Zhuhai City Polytechnic. 98 teams from 50 vocational colleges in Guangdong Province participated inthis segment. After fierce competition, Zhu Haiyue (2022) and Zhang Ying (2021),two studentsmajoring intourismmanagement from the School of Managementat SZPT, both won the first prize under the guidance of two teachers Zhang Yue and Jiang Ling.

The tour guide servicesegment aimed to improve the training quality of tour guide service talents and promote the growth and expansion of the tourism talent team. Thesegment consisted of 5 parts and 4aspects, including tour guide knowledge test, on-site tour guide script creation and explanation, tour guide explanation of scenic spots, etc., which featured a wide range and great difficulty of knowledge,requiring contestants to possess high levels of personal qualities, knowledgefoundation, skill level andability to adapt to changing circumstances.
