On August 20, the closing ceremony of the First World Vocational College Skills Competition was held in Tianjin. Song Mingliang and Wu Zehua from the School of Automotive and Transportation Engineering joined hands with Ermakov Lurii and Kubantseva Daria from Moscow State University/Shenzhen MSU-BIT University to participate in the automotive technology segment of this competition, and won the only silver medal of Guangdong Province in the competition with excellent players from all over the world.

It is reported that the automotive technology segment adopted the form of practical operation assessment, and was divided into two modules: “automotive engine disassembly and maintenance”, and “automotive electrical system maintenance”, designed to assess players in respect of the decomposition and assembly of the engine mechanical system; the engine parts measurement and availability judgment; the troubleshooting and maintenance mode selection; the understanding of vehicle electrical system structure and control logic; the ability to use multimeters, oscilloscopes and other common diagnostic equipment; and the diagnosis of automotive electrical system failure.From the theoretical system to the professional practice, from the process steps to the optimization of actions, and from the use of tools to the placement of tools, the instructor requires the players to do their best in every logical train of thought and action, and leave no regret in each step.
