Leaders together unveil the nameplate of the Sino-German Intelligent Manufacturing Digital Engineering Innovation Center.

On September 15, 2020, the Shenzhen Polytechnic-SISW Cooperation Signing Ceremony & Unveiling Ceremony of Sino-German Intelligent Manufacturing Digital Engineering Innovation Center (hereinafter referred to as the "Center") was held in Conference Room 101, Mingde Building. Attendees of the ceremony include He Zhimei, a member of the Leading Party Members Group and Deputy Director of Industry and Information Technology Bureau of Shenzhen Municipality, Liang Naiming, Global Senior Vice President and Managing Director for the Greater China Region of Siemens, Wang Wenhua, Vice President for the Greater China Region of Siemens, Ma Ximing, CFO for the Greater China Region of Siemens, Liu Feng, Operation Director of Government and Education Industry Affairs, Zhang Manni, Senior Manager of Marketing for South China Region, Jin Chao, Director of Government Affairs Cooperation & Industry 4.0 Innovation, as well as Shenzhen Polytechnic's leaders like Yang Xinbin, Secretary of the Party Committee and President, and Vice President Ma Xiaoming. The ceremony was presided over by Chen Hong, Dean of the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering.

He Zhimei indicated that intelligent manufacturing recognized as the main task for building China into a manufacturing power has entered from the stage of concept popularization and pilot demonstration into the stage of the in-depth application and all-round promotion. It is hoped that Shenzhen Polytechnic and Siemens will deepen cooperation, combine the technology and industry resources of Siemens with the educational and platform resources of Shenzhen Polytechnic, take the lead in the training of professional technicians for intelligent manufacturing based on the dual education system, set a model for promoting the industry-education integration and university-enterprise cooperation and building a platform with integrated development of technology, industry, and education in the new era, and make more contributions to constructing the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and Socialist Pilot Demonstration Area.

According to Liang Naiming, Industry 4.0 and the industrial network are not only directions of future intelligent manufacturing but also a key to transformation and upgrade of the manufacturing industry. Siemens Digital Industries Software, a world-leading provider of industry software, system and services, has an intent to share its experience and capability with Shenzhen Polytechnic and students, thus changing the stereotype image of the "greasy and sweaty" industry and attracting more students to work in this sector. Siemens Digital Industries Software will make joint efforts with Shenzhen Polytechnic to foster more technicians for intelligent manufacturing and implement the global Siemens industry software certification system by collaborating with universities, vocational education institutions, and training institutions all over the world.

Yang Xinbin pointed out that Siemens is an important partner of Shenzhen Polytechnic. Since 2003, the two parties have maintained close cooperation in PLC industry control, intelligent building, and other fields, and also worked together to cultivate talent, train faculty, construct curriculum systems, and develop education-related technologies. As the world is ushering into the Industry 4.0 Era and China is embracing the Digital Economy Era, the signing ceremony meets the demand both for industrial development and further in-depth cooperation mode of the two parties. Shenzhen Polytechnic will spare no effort to promote the development of the Center in line with the industrial needs. It is believed that with joint efforts by the two parties, the high-level resource sharing and industry-education integration will be realized, a first-class intelligent manufacturing talent cultivation base established, and contributions made to the transformation, upgrade, and high-quality development of Shenzhen's intelligent manufacturing industry.

Then Wang Wenhua and Ma Xiaoming respectively signed theShenzhen Polytechnic-Siemens Framework Agreement on Co-establishing the Sino-German Intelligent Manufacturing Digital Engineering Innovation Center. In accordance with the Framework Agreement, the construction of the Center will be completed in five years. The two parties will build the Center into an industry-university-research-application innovation service center that integrates the development of digital curriculum, education & training, transformation & upgrades for smart digital factories, trial production (flexible manufacturing), small and medium-sized enterprise services, and exhibition of intelligent manufacturing technologies. Moreover, the Center will become the first domestic industry cloud platform with integration of technology, industry, and education, an industrial IoT and intelligent manufacturing digital teaching platform for universities, enterprises, and society, and an intelligent manufacturing digital & research public service platform for small and medium-sized enterprises in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. As a result, the Center will promote the rapid, innovative, and scientific development of the intelligent manufacturing industry and its digital teaching, provide intellectual and talent support for the regional economy, and set the example of industry-education integration and university-enterprise cooperation for domestic vocational colleges.
