The Review Meeting Held in Room 103 of Houde Building, Xili Lake Park Campus

On February 29th, a review meeting for the "Building Equipment Engineering" Advanced Diploma Joint Training Course, co-hosted by our university and the Vocational Training Council of Hong Kong, was held in Room 103 of Houde Building at Xili Lake Park Campus. An expert panel consisting of eight members from the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers, chaired by Xu Yiwei, with assessors Chen Qicheng, Mei Guowei, and Li Jianhua, evaluated the collaborative program. More than 30 attendees, including our Vice President Li Yue, Chan Ying Yat, the Head of Engineering Department at the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (Shatin) campus, Wang Bingfeng, Director of the Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan Affairs Office, Liang Zhaofeng, Dean of the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Li Zhibin, Associate Dean, and Hou Zhijian, course coordinator, participated in the review meeting. The meeting was presided over by Liang Zhaofeng.

During the session, Li Yue extended a warm welcome to all leaders and experts, outlining our university's profile, recent achievements, and internationalization efforts, highlighting the series of distinctive features in collaboration with the Vocational Training Council of Hong Kong. She emphasized that educational collaboration with Hong Kong has always been a priority and focal point of our university's cross-border cooperation, showcasing several pioneering initiatives in mainland China's vocational education. Since 2008, we have partnered with the Vocational Training Council to offer the "Electrical Engineering" Advanced Diploma program, which has now expanded to five majors. The "Building Equipment Engineering" Advanced Diploma Joint Training Course commenced its first cohort of Hong Kong students in September 2022. Collaborations with the Vocational Training Council of Hong Kong and the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers are highly significant for advancing cross-border education at our university and enhancing internationalization efforts.

Xu Yiwei expressed the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers' keen interest in the inaugural review of the "Building Equipment Engineering" Advanced Diploma Joint Training Course co-hosted in Shenzhen and Hong Kong. They appointed observers for a comprehensive assessment both online and offline, outlining the agenda at the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education and SZPU.

During the review phase, the expert panel raised questions regarding teaching resources and updates, practical training environments, grading systems, student reassessment, industry collaboration, new technologies in artificial intelligence, corporate internships, safety, and future prospects. Our faculty members provided detailed answers to each query.

During the on-site inspection phase, the expert panel from the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers examined our Building Intelligent Engineering Technology specialty training labs and campus facilities, particularly focusing on assessing the hardware conditions of the training rooms used by our students from the 2022 cohort of the Hong Kong Shatin class, teaching processes, safety protocols, equipment updates, alignment of training content with course outlines, and engaged in extensive discussions with our faculty members.

In his concluding remarks, Xu Yiwei commended the smooth review of the "Building Equipment Engineering" Advanced Diploma Joint Training Course, acknowledging the robust support from SZPU's leadership and faculty for the project. He praised the sincere collaboration between Shenzhen and Hong Kong, seamless curriculum alignment, industry-oriented approach, and SZPU's advanced teaching facilities and resources. Liang Zhaofeng expressed gratitude for the valuable feedback and suggestions provided by the expert panel for the project and extended appreciation to the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers, as well as the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education, for their support.
