The EdB Delegation Visited SZPU

On November 10, to fully implement the Outline of the Development Plan for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area and promote in-depth cooperation in the field of education, a delegation from the Hong Kong Education Bureau (EdB) visited our university. Members of the delegation included Li Meichang, Permanent Secretary of EdB; Zhou Qingbang, Director-General of Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications (HKCAAVQ), and leaders from Metropolitan University of Hong Kong, Vocational Training Council (VTC), Qualifications Framework Secretariat, and other related organizations.

Li Yue, Vice President of SZPU, warmly received the delegation at Tongde Building and introduced our university’s running characteristics, construction history, school-enterprise cooperation and Shenzhen-Hong Kong vocational education cooperation to the delegation. Li Meichang, Permanent Secretary of EdB, first spoke highly of the fruitful achievements made by SZPU since its inception, and then shared the latest development trends and future plans of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region in the field of vocational education, and expected that Shenzhen and Hong Kong could make bold innovations in the field of education, learn from each other, complement each other’s advantages and deepen cooperation in the field of industry-education integration in the future. In the following discussion and exchange session, the two sides focused on the mutual recognition of junior college qualifications, and carried out the program of Mainland students’ study, internship and employment in Hong Kong.

After the discussion, the delegation also visited the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area Vocational Park (“the Park”) jointly built by SZPU and VTC to learn more about the construction achievements and future development plans of the Park.

Other relevant persons present included Zha Weihua, First-level Chief Section Member of Office of Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan Affairs, Department of Education of Guangdong Province; Wang Bingfeng, Director of Office of Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan Affairs, SZPU; Huang Wei, Deputy Director of Office of Academic Affairs; Wang Wenbin, Deputy Dean of School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering; Tan Xin, Deputy Dean of School of Digital Creation and Animation; He Rui, Deputy Dean of School of Art; Qiu Bing, an expert on school-enterprise cooperation in higher education industry from Tencent; and Chen Baijia, Recruitment Manager of Human Resources Department, BYD Shenzhen. The event is an active exploration of vocational education within the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area and is expected to further promote close cooperation in the field of vocational and technical education between Shenzhen and Hong Kong.
