SZPT Leader Invited to Attend the “Global Vision · Facing the Future” Symposium and Deliver a Keynote Report

To celebrate its 40th anniversary, the Hong Kong Vocational Training Council (VTC) held asymposium on “Global Vision · Facing the Future” at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre on December 9. Li Yue, Vice President of SZPT, was invited to attend the symposium online and deliver a keynote report entitled “Practice and Exploration of Intercultural Communication Skills Training - Taking Shenzhen Polytechnic as an Example”.

Li Yue stated in her speech that as economic globalization drives the educational globalization, training of talents with international vision and intercultural communication skills has become a requirement under the general context of educational globalization and an inevitable requirement along with the development of the times. She shared SZPT’s experience and practice in improving students’ intercultural communication skills, such as offering intercultural courses, carrying out exchange programs and education for international students, and launching the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Student Exchange Alliance, so as to cultivate outstanding vocational and technical talents with an international perspective. Finally, she also shared SZPT’s future planning and thinking for intercultural education.

Meanwhile, VTC also organized the “New Generation, New Skills” event as one of the celebrations for the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and the 40th anniversary of VTC, covering thematic exhibitions, lecturers, skills demonstrations and industry sharing sessions. The “Global Vision - Facing the Future” symposium is one of the important projects of the “New Generation, New Skills” event. During the event, the organizer invited our college to select excellent design works of teachers and students for participation in the exhibition. The “Food Machine” by Huang Boyang, a student from the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, and the “A Journey of Shenzhen in the Past 40 Years” by Gongwei, a teacher from the School of Communication, which were recommended by our college, gained great favor of attendees during the exhibition.
