On September 29, the signing ceremony of a cooperation agreement between SZPT and the Technical Education Department of the Ministry of Education and Technical Education of Egypt and the Education Council of Luxor Province was held online and offline. Zheng Hongbo stated that this year marks the 15^th anniversary of the establishment of sister cities between Shenzhen and Luxor; the two sides are seeing closer cooperation in economy, trade, technology, education and other fields. The signing of this cooperation agreement is an important milestone in the vocational education cooperation between Shenzhen and Luxor, which will surely add new opportunities and inject new impetus to the development of Shenzhen and Luxor.

In his speech, Hegazy introduced the course of Egypt’s education reform relying on a new educational policy and the basic situation of the cooperation between China and Egypt in the field of education. He said that Egypt’s vocational education is facing various challenges, such as the improvement of teaching quality, the reform of teaching content and the enhancement of students’ competitiveness in employment. The vocational education cooperation between Shenzhen and Luxor Province responds positively to the call of the Ministry of Education and Technical Education of Egyptto reform the vocational education system, and further promotes the cooperation between Egypt and China in the field of vocational education. Aymara and Osman then provided the relevant information of three colleges in Luxor that intend to establish cooperation with SZPT.

Zhang Tao said in his speech that in recent years, thanks to the strategic guidance of President Xi Jinping and President Abdel Fattah al Sisi, the China-Egypt comprehensive strategic partnership has become a model of solidarity, cooperation and mutual benefit between China and Arab countries, Africa and other developing countries. The exchanges and cooperation on education between China and Egypt keep deepening, especially in the field of vocational education, a series of landmark cooperation projects have been carried out, which provides solid talent and technical support for promoting the economic and social development and upgrading the cooperation on economic, trade and production capacity between the two countries. There are broad prospects for China-Egypt vocational education cooperation. The Chinese Embassy in Egypt will actively promote the cooperation between Chinese vocational colleges, represented by Shenzhen Polytechnic, and Egyptian vocational colleges, so as to take China-Egypt comprehensive strategic partnership to a new level and further benefit the people of the two countries.

On behalf of SZPT, Yang Xinbin expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Education and Technical Education of Egypt for their trust and to the Chinese Embassy in Egypt, Shenzhen Municipal Party Committee, Shenzhen Municipal Government, Shenzhen Education Bureau and Shenzhen Foreign Affairs Office for their support and guidance. He said that SZPT attaches great importance to cooperation with African countries and actively promotes cooperation and exchanges on vocational education between China and Africa. In 2021, SZPT joined the “Future Africa – Sino-Africa TVET Cooperation Program” initiated by the Ministry of Education of China and carried out a joint talent training program with the Ivorian National Polytechnic for Science and Technology. In 2022, SZPT became one of the co-sponsors of the CATCC, working with vocational colleges, chambers of commerce, enterprises and research institutes in China and Africa to promote sustainable economic and social development in the region. SZPT is honored to, on behalf of Shenzhen Municipality, cooperate with three vocational colleges from Luxor Province in fields of hotel management, landscape technology, machinery manufacturing, etc., and will, according to the needs of Egypt, “tailor” cooperation programs for different disciplines to provide students in Egypt with much-needed, applicable and high-quality education and teaching.

At present, SZPT has established friendly cooperation with more than 40 countries and regions in the world, and set up 8 overseas vocational and technical education centers. The project under this cooperation agreement focuses on machinery manufacturing, hotel management and other local much-needed disciplines. SZPT will cooperate with three vocational colleges from Luxor province to help local youth master vocational skills in line with industry standards, expand employment, and promote economic and social development.
