Recently, the Signing Ceremony between SZPT and China Quality Certification Center (CQC) & Unveiling Ceremony of Institute for Carbon Neutrality Technology was held in Conference Room 114, Mingde Building, Liuxiandong Campus, both online and offline simultaneously. Zhao Penggao, Deputy Head of the Division of Resource Conservation and Environmental Protection, National Development and Reform Commission, Tang Jie, Professor of the School of Economics and Management, Harbin Institute of Technology (Shenzhen), former Vice Mayor of Shenzhen, Ju Dongying, Foreign Academician of the Engineering Academy of Japan, Yu Jing, Deputy Director of Development and Reform Commission of Shenzhen Municipality, Xie Zhaoxu, Party Secretary and Director of China Quality Certification Center, Li Guozhen, Deputy Director of China Quality Certification Center, and other leaders and persons from related departments attended the ceremony online. SZPT Party Secretary Yang Xinbin, President Xu Jianling, and Vice President Dong Chaojun attended the ceremony offline.

The activity was held both online and offline. At the same time, the unveiling ceremony of the Institute for Carbon Neutrality Technology was also held. It is reported that the Institute for Carbon Neutrality was established under the guidance of the Outline of National “14^thFive-year” Development Planand the strong support of the Shenzhen municipal government, according to the Carbon Neutrality Technology Innovation Action Plan for Colleges and Universities issued by the Ministry of Education. Since its establishment, the Institute has carried out in-depth cooperation with many institutions, including the China Quality Certification Center, China Southern Power Grid Yunnan Branch, Institute for Low Carbon Economy of Harbin Institute of Technology, landscape planning and management departments in Shenzhen, etc., to form a joint research platform integrating government, industry, university and research. In the future, the institute will, according to the major national development strategy of “carbon peak, carbon neutrality”, focus on the research project, talent training, standard setting and industrial services in the field of carbon peak and carbon neutrality, committed to becoming a carbon neutrality talent training center and industrial innovation base in the Greater Bay Area to lead the technological innovation related to carbon neutrality, and help achieve the goal of carbon peak and carbon neutrality.

Zhao Penggao put forward three requirements to the two sides of cooperation. First, thoroughly study and implement the spirit of major instructions given by Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China, in his important speeches on carbon peak and carbon neutrality, train a group of high-quality professionals in carbon peak and carbon neutrality, and make practical technological achievements in line with the actual situation of the State and enterprises. Second, increase efforts to revise the standards for carbon peak and carbon neutrality and provide better technical services, and do the work of TC297 Standard Secretariat well. Third, strive to build a carbon peak and carbon neutrality talent construction base with significant influence in China to play an important role in training talents with skills of carbon peak and carbon neutrality, contribute more wisdom to the sustained growth of green and low-carbon sectors, and make greater achievements.

Tang Jie said, the establishment of Institute for Carbon Neutral Technology is a major measure taken by SZPT leaders to set up important disciplines and identify important disciplines in accordance with the policy of the CPC Central Committee. Relying on the excellent scientific research and industrial platform, the Institute for Carbon Neutrality Technology combines higher vocational education with industrial sustainable development, which is an opportunity endowed by history and also the mission of colleges and universities.

Ju dongying pointed out that in recent years, the State has strengthened policy guidance to actively cultivate emerging industries such as PV and new energy, and vigorously develop circular economy. SZPT has solid fundamental research and technology accumulation, with unique advantages in the establishment of Institute for Carbon Neutral Technology. The institute is expected to train talents with global thinking and expertise in carbon peak and carbon neutrality to help China and even the international community achieve the ambitious goal of carbon peak and carbon neutrality.

Yu Jing said, the cooperation between Shenzhen Polytechnic and China Quality Certification Center and the establishment of Institute for Carbon Neutral Technology are milestone events in the field of carbon peak and carbon neutrality in Shenzhen. It is hoped that the institute can seize the historic opportunity of building the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and Shenzhen Pilot Demonstration Zone and implementing pilot comprehensive reforms to perform construction with high starting point and high standard, and play an important role in technological research, achievement transformation and talent cooperation. The Shenzhen municipal government will continue to support the development of SZPT and the construction of Institute for Carbon Neutral Technology.

Xie Zhaoxu said, Institute for Carbon Neutral Technology is the result of deep strategic cooperation between China Quality Certification Center and Shenzhen Polytechnic. Through the joint establishment of Institute for Carbon Neutral Technology, the two sides can achieve greater results in respect of technological innovation, talent training and industrial promotion in the future of carbon peak and carbon neutrality. The center and the Institute for Carbon Neutrality Technology have worked together to advance the establishment and reappointment of the TC297 GHG Standard Working Group. It is hoped that the institute can live up to its trust and contribute to the standardized development of carbon peak and carbon neutrality. The cooperation between the two sides will greatly promote the deeply integrated development of new energy industry chain, innovation chain and service chain for carbon neutrality, and put wings on the cluster and high-end development of the industry.

Yang Xinbin said, the in-depth strategic cooperation between Shenzhen Polytechnic and China Quality Certification Center will contribute to the goal of carbon peak and carbon neutrality and the green construction in China. In the future, SZPT will fully implement the major strategic deployment of the CPC Central Committee and the Carbon Neutrality Technology Innovation Action Plan for Colleges and Universities, give strong support to the institute in talent introduction and research funding, facilitate the institute to strengthen the construction of a professional discipline system in carbon peak and carbon neutrality and the training of high-level skilled talents, and strive to build the institute into an influential research platform and talent training base.
