From December 17th to 19th, the final review and competition of the 2023 National College Student Robotics Technology Innovation Exchange Camp and Robotics Competition, co-sponsored by the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, were held in Rizhao City, Shandong Province. Two entries from SZPU's School of Electromechanical Engineering, "Rescue Vanguard" and "Autonomous Transport AGV Robot Chassis Design and Automatic Wireless Charging Solution", stood out from 1,017 submissions, winning the national first and third prizes, respectively.
The first-prize winner, "Rescue Vanguard", is a high-performance, multimodal hexapod robot focused on complex terrain rescue missions and data collection. It boasts high mobility and load capacity, enabling it to quickly reach disaster sites for surveying tasks in complex terrains, thereby ensuring the safety of rescue personnel and improving search and rescue efficiency.
It is reported that this year's National College Student Robotics Technology Innovation Exchange Camp and Competition is the first of its kind. The competition, not divided by undergraduate or junior college tracks, received 1,017 entries from 431 colleges and universities nationwide. After school-level selections, provincial recommendations, and national online reviews, 300 entries were awarded third prizes, and another 218 were shortlisted for the final review and competition. Through project presentations and expert inquiries, a total of 50 grand prizes, 74 first prizes, and 94 second prizes were awarded.
