On November 19, the award ceremony & 30th anniversary celebration of the 2023 National College Students Electronic Design Competition was held in Beijing. A total of 18 colleges and universities, including SZPU, University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, and Xidian University, won the 30-year outstanding contribution award in the competition. SZPU was the only university in Guangdong Province that won the honor.
SZPU has participated in the National College Students Electronic Design Competition since 2001, and once won the highest award “Rui Sa Cup”. In 2019, we won three national first prizes and three second prizes; in 2021, we won the national first prize, the only first prize in Guangdong Higher Vocational Group; in 2023, we won one national first prize and six second prizes. Relying on the Electronic IoT Elite Class, Electronic Elite Training Camp, IoT Maker Association and other student societies, the School of Electronic and Communication Engineering carried out the selection of students for participation in the competition, focusing on training students’ comprehensive quality and ability through the competition.
Sponsored by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the National College Students Electronic Design Competition is one of the academic competitions advocated by the Ministry of Education, enjoying high social recognition and great influence. In 2023, a total of 62,817 students of 20,939 student teams from 1,134 colleges and universities in 31 provinces and cities across the country participated in the competition. The rate of winning the first prize of this competition was only 1.71%, and the rate of winning the second prize was only 4.65%. The event required students to, through after 4 days and 3 nights of semi-closed competition, design and produce works that meet the requirements of the contest and reflect the innovation ability, which is a comprehensive investigation of students’ electronic knowledge and skills such as digital electronic technology, analog electronic technology, electronic circuit board design, etc.
