On April 24, the “Smart Networking Technology and Application” segment of 2022-2023 Guangdong Vocational College Students Skills Competition (Higher Vocational Group) announced the results. Two teams sent by the Intelligent Transportation major of the School of Automotive and Transportation Engineering (first team: Zheng Angrun, Huang Mingjian, and Chen Huanbin; second team: Wang Xile, Liu Yantong, and Luo Meijie) both won the first prize of the provincial competition. So far, the teachers and students of the Intelligent Transportation major have won the first prize in this segment for four consecutive years.
The “Smart Networking Technology and Application” segment focuses on intelligent connected vehicles, including two modules: “data acquisition and processing in traffic and road scenarios” and “automatic driving task execution in smart agriculture scenarios”. From October 2022, the teachers of the Intelligent Transportation major began to build teams. After the smart network course learning, competition screening, ability testing and other procedures, the two teams were finally set to enter the pre-competition training. During the training, the teachers answered questions raised by the contestants at any time, and invited smart networking experts to conduct a number of pre-competition training sessions. The students were diligent and hardworking. They strictly followed the rule of 10 classes a day and participated in the training on all weekends. After three months of training, the students finally achieved great results.
