Recently, the “Robot System Integration” segment of 2022-2023 Guangdong Vocational College Skills Competition, hosted by the Department of Education of Guangdong Province, was held at Guangdong Polytechnic of Science and Technology. As part of the new national competition this year, the segment had 41 participating colleges competing with each other extremely fiercely. Under the guidance of the coaches Li Liangtian and Yang Min, the students Dong Zhen and Wu Yongrui from the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering won the second place in the provincial competition and the first prize in Guangdong Province.

The “Robot System Integration” segment is a combination of industrial robots, PLC, CNC machine tools, machine vision, industrial network and many other technologies, which fully reflects the direction of intelligent manufacturing, and covers intelligent control and various other core technologies and equipment. Featuring a wide rage, depth and great difficulty of knowledge, the segment requires a high level of technical base, skills and adaptability of the contestants. Before the competition, the coaching team seriously performed the student echelon construction, selection and cultivation, made training plans one year in advance, and carried out training by modules. After a long time of hard training, the teachers and students of the team finally won the second place of the segment and the first prize of Guangdong Province with a high score of 90 by virtue oftheir solid foundation,outstanding skills andstable mentality.
