Teacher from the School of Automotive and Transportation Engineering Won the Second Prize in the UAV Operation Segment of the BRICS Vocational Skills Competition

Date: Nov 14, 2022

In the 2022 BRICS Vocational Skills Competition, which ended on November 6, Li Peng, a teacher from the School of Automotive and Transportation Engineering at SZPT, won the national second prize in the UAV operation segment. The UAV operation segment consisted of five modules, designed to assess the contestants’ professional skills in respect of UAV theoretical basis, UAV virtual simulation, UAV installation, commissioning and maintenance, UAV detailed inspection, UAV emergency rescue, etc.

As early as 2017, other colleges already incorporated competition-related equipment into their daily teaching, while at SZPT, the major of UAV application technology was just established this year, and all the equipment for the final was not in place until about 20 days before the competition. The contestant went all out and prepared hard for the competition. Finally, he won the national second prize in the competition against contestants from other colleges traditionally strong in the UAV field.

The major of UAV application technology adheres to the integration of competition and education, promotes education through competition and boosts competition through education by organically integrating the contents of UAV skills competitions at all levels and of various types into the professional talent training system, so as to train more UAV application talents for the industrial upgrading of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
