On September 16-21, the 13^th Formula Student China 2022 was held in Hefei, Anhui Province. The SZPT’s phantom formula racing team competed with the teams of Jilin University, Beijing Institute of Technology, Tsinghua University and other nationally well-known undergraduate colleges, and finally won the second prize of the electric car group and the third prize of the unmanned car group. The team was awarded the title “Excellent Publicity Team of the Year”.

Organized by the China Society of Automotive Engineers, Formula Student China consists of the Formula Student Combustion China, Formula Student Electric China, and Formula Student Autonomous China. This year, there were 2,600 students of 105 teams from different universities participating in the competition, including 34combustion car teams, 53 electric car teams and 18autonomous teams. The competition required all participating vehicles to undergo the vehicle inspection, design analysis, linear acceleration, figure eight loop, high-speed obstacle avoidance, durability test, efficiency test and other related tests, known as the most attractive, competitive and challenging formula event in China.

SZPT’s phantom formula racing team, composed of a formula electric racing team and a formulaautonomous racing team, is an interdisciplinary student association organized by the School of Automotive and Transportation Engineering and one of the first top ten brand communities established at SZPT. Adhering to the car-making concept of “safety, science, sports and innovation”, the association designs and manufactures Formula Student racing cars (combustion car, electric car and autonomous car) independently every year for participation in the Formula Student China to demonstrate thecapability of vocational education students.
