National College Graduates Employment Capacity Training Base

On December 17, the inauguration ceremony of the National College Graduates Employment Capacity Training Base was held in Conference Room 109, Mingde Building, Liuxiandong Campus. Qiu Kernan, Second-level Inspector of the Department of Education of Guangdong Province, Zhou Zhaoguo, Director of Student Employment and Entrepreneurship Division, and Xu Jianling, President of the Shenzhen Polytechnic, attended the inauguration ceremony. The secretaries and deputy secretaries of all schools, the staff of the Office of Admissions and Employment and the Career Guidance Center attended the event. Dong Chaojun, Vice President of Shenzhen Polytechnic, presided over the ceremony.

Qiu Kenan said in his speech that in recent years, the number of college graduates in China has continued to increase, and the employment situation of college graduates has become more severe due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. He added that the CPC Central Committee and the State Council always attach great importance to the employment of college graduates, and General Secretary Xi Jinping has repeatedly given important instructions on employment for college graduates, and tried every means to help college graduates achieve stable employment. Combining the relevant deployment requirements of the Guangdong Provincial Government on the employment of college graduates, Qiu Kenan put forward three expectations for Shenzhen Polytechnic. First, it should continue to unswervingly implement the national, Guangdong provincial, and Guangzhou municipal instructions and decisions on the employment of college students. Second, it should carry forward and intensify its advantages. Third, it should rely on the just-approved National College Graduates Employment Capacity Training Base of the Ministry of Education, combine with the college's goal of cultivating versatile and innovative technical and skilled talents in the smart era, tap into areas such as career planning, employment guidance, innovation, and entrepreneurship, as well as special technologies and skills, and actively develop more employment ability enhancement courses with application value and practical significance, so as to provide graduates with better and more suitable training options. He hoped that Shenzhen Polytechnic can become a pioneer and an exemplar, develop and make use of the National College Graduates Employment Capacity Training Base, explore and accumulate more advanced experiences to promote higher quality employment for graduates. He also hoped that the college will continue to innovate ideas and methods in its future work, and promote the quality and efficiency of graduate employment work to reach a new level.

Xu Jianling expressed his warm welcome and heartfelt thanks to all the leaders for their arrival. He added that under the correct leadership and coordinated deployment of the Department of Education of Guangdong Province recently, the Party Committee of Shenzhen Polytechnic has always given priority to the employment work of graduates and spared no effort to help graduates get good jobs and continuously achieve higher quality employment. With the support of the Department of Education of Guangdong Province, the college has been approved as the first batch of "National College Graduates Employment Capacity Training Base". It will continue to do its utmost to implement the decision of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council to "stabilize employment" and "preserve employment", play its advantages and take up its mission to ensure the successful completion of the annual training tasks, make new contributions to help graduates find a job and create a new pattern of graduate employment.

At the ceremony, the leaders jointly inaugurated the National College Graduates Employment Capacity Training Base and issued appointment letters to the representatives of training instructors.

It is reported that a total of 135 colleges and universities in China have set up the "National College Graduates Employment Capacity Training Base", and Shenzhen Polytechnic is the only higher vocational institution in Guangdong that has been successfully selected. The college will continue to make efforts in areas such as training base organization, training system, faculty, training course materials, construction of employment resource sharing platform, and base collaborative innovation to ensure that the training programs are implemented with high quality and high standard, and ensure the high-quality employment of graduates. It will help students who have the will and need to improve their employment ability to strengthen their skills and increase their confidence.
