From December 15 to 17, the Fourth Cosmetic Formula Competition of Guangdong Province (hereinafter referred to as "the Competition"), sponsored by the National Steering Committee of Light Industry Vocational Education, was held. Nearly 100 contestants from Guangdong, Jiangsu, Hunan, Yunnan, Chongqing, and other provinces and municipalities participated in the Competition. The students of Shenzhen Polytechnic won the first prize and the second prize of the group.

The examination of the Competition includes professional knowledge assessment of cosmetic technology, transparent amino acid soap, and practical assessment of toning cream. The theoretical assessment is a closed-book examination, with questions randomly selected from the test paper bank, and the duration of the examination is 60 minutes. The practical assessment requires the contestants to prepare the products according to the performance requirements within 90 minutes, which mainly examines the contestants' familiarity with the INCI Chinese name and trade name of raw materials, formula design, raw material selection, product preparation, as well as their process control, standard operation, and safe and scientific production modes. Under the guidance of Wei Jingjing and Liu Hongbo, faculty members of Fine Chemical Technology Major in the School of Materials and Environmental Engineering, Liu Xiaohong, Pan Huilin, Chen Peixin, and Cai Yining won the first and second prizes in the group.
