TheSchool ofArtificial Intelligence was established on April 27, 2019 by the transfer of the entire former School ofComputerEngineering. The Schoolis co-located with with Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay AreaInstitute of Applied Artificial Intelligence Technologyand Artificial Intelligence Education Empowerment Centre (preparatory).There are 7 majors, includingVirtual Reality Application Technology, Cloud Computing Technology Application, Software Technology, Computer Application Technology, Big Data Technology, Artificial Intelligence Technology Application and Blockchain Technology Application.The School partnerwith City University of Seattle in the United Statesinofferinga software technology program.The School alsocollaborates withShenzhen University and Shaoguan College to offertwo separateapplied undergraduate programsin "Computer Science and Technology".TheSchoolhas 2 excellent teaching teams in Guangdong Province, 6 overseas high-level talents in Shenzhen, 12 high-level professionals in Shenzhen and 7 excellent teachers in Shenzhen. There are 150 teaching staff,including87 full-time teachers,8of them holdsenior titles and 56holddeputy senior titles.33teachers havedoctordegreesand 78havemasterdegrees.

In terms of scientific research, theschoolhas successively hosted 1 National 863 project, 7 National Natural Science Foundation projects, 1 Guangdong-Hongkong Breakthrough Projectin Key Areas, and 13NaturalScienceFoundation andScience andTechnologyPlanProjects of Guangdong Province.In the field ofArtificialIntelligence application technology, theSchoolactively explores school-enterprise cooperationopportunities, and has successively established jointLaboratories or R&DCenters with Yinsheng Group, Huayun Group, Zhongke Maihang, Maxford, Saeed and other enterprises to promote the transformation and implementation of scientific research achievements.

In terms of academic disciplinebuilding,the Schoolhas undertaken 11 provincial and ministerial teaching and researchprojects, won 2 second prizes for national teaching achievements,built 7 National Excellent Courses and 5NationalExcellentResourceSharingCourses, published 98 higher vocationaleducation textbooks,1textbook wonthe second prize of excellenttextbooksfor National OrdinaryHigher Education Institutions, and3were rated as excellenttextbooksof the Ministry of education.The Schoolhas beenvigorouslycooperatingwith Huawei, Pengcheng laboratory, iFLYTEK, Baidu, Alibaba, Tencent, Oracle, Netdragon, Nanjing55thInstituteand other enterprises instudenttraining. The Schooltookthe lead in establishing the first Huawei Cloud Academy Kunpeng Center authorized by authorized by Huawei, effectively realizing the close connection between talent training and the actual needs of enterprises.
