Established on September 1, 2020, Evergreen Institute of Elderly Education is a secondary college affiliated to Shenzhen Evergreen College for the Elderly, which was co-established by the leaders mainly responsible for elderly education in Shenzhen Polytechnic University and the Bureau of Retired Veteran Cadres of the CPC Shenzhen Municipal Committee. The Institute has a General Management Office, a Project Management Office, and a Student Management Office. Since its establishment, it has explored standardized school running, high-quality teaching, and modern management of elderly universities from various aspects such as the Party leadership, network teaching, curriculum construction, expansion of school running channels, system innovation, and smart classroom construction. At present, it has established a grassroots Party organization covering all teachers and students and has carried out learning activities of Party history such as micro-Party classes, open classes, and tea social gatherings. It has built an online teaching platform for Evergreen College for the Elderly to ensure that classes will not be suspended during the epidemic. It offers 28 bureau-level high-quality classes, 142 school system classes, and 7,544 degrees. It offers 6 full-time college students' courses for retired comrades to listen to, and launched an online evaluation system of teaching quality. It is establishing 18 online courses, 21 master (famous teacher) studios and practical teaching bases, 50 standardized courses, and 50 specialty courses for elderly education. The series of school-running activities have been reported by mainstream media such as CCTV News Channel and Shenzhen Special Zone Daily many times.
