The flag raising ceremony was held at the new stadium

In the morning of September 28, theNational Flag Raising Ceremony for the 74th Anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China & Grade 2022 Military Training Summary and Commendation Conference were successfully held in the stadium of Liuxiandong Campus. Xie Guanghui, Senior Colonel and Chief of Staff of Shenzhen Base of PLA Hong Kong, Xu Jianling, President of SZPU, and Jiang Hua, Senior Colonel, Deputy Chief of Staff and Head of Military Training Group of Shenzhen Base of PLA Hong Kong, attended the conference. Persons in charge of relevant functional departments, secretaries and deputy secretaries of sub-Party committees (general branch) of secondaryschools, and all responsible instructors and counselors participated in the activity. The conference was chaired by Wang Minjian, Director of Office of Student Affairs.

More than 9,000 students of Grade 2022 gathered in an orderly manner, and the camp closing ceremony officially began. The national flag guard team made goose steps to the flag raising platform; at the same time of raising the national flag and playing the national anthem , all stood up and saluted with eyes. After the ceremony, the 10 winning teams selected by the 10 camps of the military training lined up and marched neatly into the venue. The neat phalanx, powerful marching, clarion slogans, and report performances of the 10 teams effectively demonstrated the results of the rigorous military training, and highlighted the active youth style of SZPU students. Subsequently, the excellent pacesetters from their respective teams respectively carried out report performances of military subjects such as capture fists, tactical movements, battlefield rescue, etc.

After the report performances, Jiang Hua, Head of Military Training Group, spoke on behalf of the military training instructors. He said that the military training subjects took a variety of forms to stimulate the enthusiasm of the students, and achieved remarkable results. All the students passed the assessment, showing the good image and quality of SZPU students.

Wang Minjian read out the decision of military training commendation. A total of 645 students, including Zeng Jie, won the title of “Advanced Individuals in Military Training”; 135 students, including Lin Weihao, won the title of “Military Training Model”; 20 instructors, including Xiong Haijun, were awarded “Excellent Instructors”; 22 teams, including No. 2 Team, were awarded “Outstanding Team”; No. 1 Camp (Foreign Languages and Business, Digital Creation and Animation), No. 3 Camp (management), No. 7 Camp (Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Education) and No. 9 Camp (Construction Engineering, Automotive and Transportation Engineering) were awarded “Winning Camp”. The awarding guests presented certificates of honor to the winning individuals and the winning collective representatives. Xu Jianling said that military training is an important part of cultivating students’ all-round ability in morality, intelligence, physical fitness, aesthetics and labor, and also an important part of carrying out national defense education. This year’s military training was strongly supported by the troops stationed in Hong Kong. They showed the momentum of a mighty force, as well as the image of a civilized force, winning strong appreciation from the teachers and students. The students experienced both physical and mental tests, and their mental outlook and discipline quality were both significantly improved. Xu Jianling put forward three requirements to the students: First, be confident and independent. He hoped the students would believe in the university, believe in themselves, believe in the future, make good planning for college life, strengthen self-management, develop good habits, and move forward step by step toward the goal in their heart. Second, be diligent in learning and thinking, and forge ahead firmly. He hoped the students would be a “nail” that never rusts, dive deep into their professional field, learn every knowledge point deeply, practice every skill, and grow into a dedicated and innovative “skilled craftsman” and “great artisan” at an early date. Third, be firm in aspirations of building a powerful China. He hoped the students would actively sense the pulse of the times, strengthen the love for the home and country, bravely undertake the heavy tasks, and ensure that the future and destiny of individuals will resonate with the development of the country and be closely linked with the rejuvenation of the nation, with their youth power blooming in the practice of building a modern socialist country in an all-round way.

“Listen, the horn of a new journey blows, and the goal of building a strong army is being called ahead. We should take responsibility to build a powerful country”, as the National Day was approaching, all the military training students of Grade 2022 sang the army song, and wished the great Party youth forever and the great motherland prosperity.
