Wang Qun, Deputy Dean of School of Construction Engineering, Yang Congkun, Deputy Director of International Office, and other related leaders attended the meeting.

Li Yue accompanied Ambassador Adama on a symposium with the students. She mentioned that it had been more than three months since the first batch of students from the cooperation program officially enrolled in our college in March this year. Despite a short period of time, the students had quickly adapted to the study and life in Shenzhen, and the relevant departments of the college had also made full efforts to provide guarantee for the students’ study and life in Shenzhen. In the future, SZPT will continue to give full support for the smooth operation of the program.

Adama thanked the college for its warm reception and meticulous care of the 24 Ivorian students. He shared his study and work experience with everyone. He grew up living and studying in the countryside, but through his own efforts, he became Cote d’Ivoire’s youngest ambassador abroad. All the students present at the site were luckier than him. He hoped that the students would cherish this precious opportunity. He especially mentioned that this year marks the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Cote d’Ivoire, and as in November, a series of celebration activities will be held in Beijing, he sincerely invited SZPT leaders and 24 students to attend the activities.

At the lunch meeting, Yang Xinbin introduced Shenzhen to Ambassador Dosso with key words such as “green, young, innovative, and hard work” and introduced the distinctive features of education at SZPT. He mentioned that SZPT attaches great importance to the “Future Africa - China-Africa Joint Training Program for Applied Talents” and is very concerned about the study and life of the 24 Ivorian students from the program. In addition to professional study, the college has also arranged a variety of extracurricular activities. He hoped that each of the Ivorian students could learn 2-3 Chinese dishes before returning to Cote d’Ivoire next year and share them with their families and friends. He also mentioned that among SZPT’s partners in Africa, Cote d’Ivoire is currently our partner with the most in-depth cooperation. He hoped that the visit of Ambassador Adama would be an opportunity for the two sides to carry out broader and deeper cooperation in the field of talent cultivation, teacher training, skills training, cooperative education and other aspects of vocational education in the future.

Besides, Adama visited the training rooms of the School of Electronic and Communication Engineering, the School of Automotive and Transportation Engineering and the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, attended the final exam of the martial arts course for students from Cote d’Ivoire, and fully affirmed SZPT’s educational conditions and rich curriculum arrangements.
