3,000 candidates and their parents attended the event with no empty seats

In the middle of summer, everything is full of vigor and vitality. On June 23, SZPT’s first campus open day & admission briefing was held at Xili Lake Campus, attracting more than 3,000 candidates and their parents. President Xu Jianling, Vice President Dong Chaojun, and heads of Office of Party and Government Affairs, Office of Enrollment & Employment and other relevant departments and secondary schools attended the event.

This open day event mainly included three parts: admission briefing, on-site consultation, and campus visit, showing SZPT’s school-running achievements, characteristics, philosophy, and atmosphere of openness and inclusive to all sectors of society, candidates and their parents in an all-round, multi-angle and close-range manner.

In his speech, Xu Jianling, on behalf of SZPT, extended a warm welcome to all the candidates, parents and guests who came to participate in the event, and introduced the basic situation, school-running characteristics, latest achievements, teaching staff, foreign exchanges and cooperation, enrollment and employment of SZPT. He said that based on the new development stage of vocational education, SZPT will keep in mind the mission of strengthening the country through vocational education, and continue to move forward toward the development goal of building a world-class vocational college with Chinese characteristics. SZPT has the confidence and ability to provide strong support for vocational education students to become skilled talents and realize a brilliant life.

Liang Kuai, Director of Office of Enrollment & Employment, introduced the enrollment policy and employment situation of SZPT in 2023. SZPT’s enrollment this year has several major features: 6 undergraduate core majors enroll 200 students across the province for the first time; the junior college enrollment plan increases significantly from last year, reaching a total of 12,000 students, a record high; both the scale and regions of out-of-province enrollment increase. Jilin Province, Hebei Province and Chongqing are newly added, and the number of provinces for out-of-province enrollment reaches 19, with a total enrollment plan of 1,020 students. The discipline groups are more detailed and reasonable, covering physics, history, fine arts and music.

In the subsequent discipline introduction and on-site consultation, the heads of the schools with the six undergraduate majors that enroll students for the first time this year interpreted the newly established undergraduate majors one by one. SZPT’s 16 secondary schools, Office of Enrollment & Employment, Office of Student Affairs and other schools and departments set up consultation points on site, and the leaders of the schools and departments personally participated in the session to answer questions and address doubts for the candidates. The site was crowded with people and the atmosphere was heated.

SZPT provided circle bus service for visitors

It is worth mentioning that SZPT also provided meticulous and thoughtful service for the guests who came to attend the open day event. Free lunch vouchers were offered so that everyone could experience the campus food firsthand, and circle buses were arranged to take guests to meals and tours. During the campus tour activities, SZPT set up the special training room, maker center, library, dormitory area, happiness hall, and sports venue as visiting points, all of which were open to students and parents. The beautiful campus environment and superior school-running conditions left a deep impression on everyone.

The responsible persons of disciplines answered questions for candidates and parents on site

It is learnt that this campus open day event is one of the promotional activities for 2023 summer college entrance examination. During the enrollment season, SZPT will also, by visiting middle schools, participating in local college entrance examination enrollment consultations, holding online enrollment promotion live broadcast, public account publicity, paper media promotion, 5G message push and other means, build various forms of enrollment promotion channels, constantly innovate publicity modes, organize various enrollment activities, and simultaneously carry out online and offline enrollment publicity, so as to attract more outstanding candidates to apply for admission.
