VTC Held a Symposium with the Major of Hotel Management and Digital Operations

On 17 April, the Hong Kong Vocational Training Council visited the major of Hotel Management and Digital Operations of the School of Management and held a symposium at Mingde Building. Guests who attended the symposium included Shi Qiang, Dean of the School of Management, Yang Congkun, Deputy Director of the Office of Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan Affairs, Lyu Jing, Director of the Hotel Management and Digital Operations of the School of Management, and the delegation of 12 members led by Xiong Sichen, Director of the Mainland and International Affairs Office of the Hong Kong Vocational Training Council. The two sides conducted cordial and friendly exchanges.

Shi Qiang introduced the development history of the School of Management, its major structure, and the honors achieved by the teachers and students. The Hong Kong guests spoke highly of the development of the school in recent years. Afterwards, the two sides had a warm and in-depth discussion on topics such as short-term student exchange program and registration time for Hong Kong students. During the discussion, Shi Qiang pointed out that vocational education in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area has broad prospects for development, and looked forward to in-depth exchanges and cooperation between the two sides in many fields such as catering management, wine culture and marketing in the future. Yang Congkun and the guests also had a deep discussion on the cooperation mode between the two sides. After the symposium, Xiong Sichen and his delegation visited the World Skills Competition Base, Chuangzhi Yuncheng and other practice bases on the third floor of Tongde Building, watched the training of the contestants, and gave affirmation and encouragement to the contestants.

The symposium deepened the mutual understanding between the two sides, promoted the close cooperation between the School of Management and the Hong Kong Vocational Training Council, and greatly promoted the exchanges and cooperation in the field of vocational education between Shenzhen and Hong Kong. The major of Hotel Management and Digital Operations is similar and complementary to the talent development program of the visiting Hong Kong School of Hotel and Tourism.
