The two parties sign a cooperation framework agreement.

The Hotel Institute Montreux of Shenzhen Polytechnic co-established by Shenzhen Polytechnic and Swiss Education Group (SEG) is officially inaugurated on October 29, 2021. The two parties will carry out international and comprehensive cooperation in several fields including talent cultivating model, course system, teaching team, and qualification certification to create a first-class international school of hotel management in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and highland for talent cultivation and social service of the generic hotel industry.

At the ceremony, the deputy president of Shenzhen Polytechnic Li Yue signed the framework agreement with the director of SEG and the general manager of Shanghai Ruishi Education Technology Co., Ltd, Yang Shijia. The inauguration was witnessed by leaders and guests online and offline.

The president of Shenzhen Polytechnic Xu Jianling said that there are large gaps between the hotel management education field of Shenzhen and Hong Kong-Macao Area. Current amount and quality of cultivated talent are hard to meet the hotel industry's requirements of the rapid development and digital transformation of the Greater Bay Area. The cooperation between Shenzhen Polytechnic and SEG establishing the Hotel Institute Montreux will complement each other's advantages with an important significance on the optimization of the hotel industry education system in the Greater Bay Area. Hope the two parties can jointly explore the new model of vocational education and development in the hotel industry field, consolidate their advantageous resources to create the model example of domestic hotel management education, and provide strong support of talent and intelligence for the development of the hotel industry in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

Li Li, professor of the South China University of Technology (SCUT), dean of the School of Business of Guangdong Ocean University, and chief educational expert of Hilton (Greater China), said that it is the first time for SEG to carry out deep cooperation with China's renowned higher vocational institute through brand output. Meanwhile, the Hotel Institute Montreux of Shenzhen Polytechnic is the first international hotel management college jointly established by Guangdong Province and the Swiss famous hotel management institute, based on the Swiss hotel management educational system. The Institute will carry out international and comprehensive cooperation in many aspects, such as talent cultivating model, course system, education, and teaching, with a vital significance of China's vocational education reformation and building highland for innovation and development of vocational education in Shenzhen.

According to the agreement, the two parties will take the Swiss international hotel management education as a benchmark, based on Shenzhen Polytechnic's existing advantages of schooling, establishing an internationalized talent cultivating model in all aspects of hotel management, to build the professional groups and course system step-by-step centered on the international service industry. Meanwhile, the Institute will be based on the Tongde Building Hotel of Shenzhen Polytechnic to plan and construct an in-school productive-service educational hotel in line with the teaching requirements of international hotel institutes. The Institute will combine the ways of introducing and joint training to create an internationalized triune teaching team with full-time professional teachers, international distinguished teachers, and part-time international industrial teachers, aim at exploring the new model of Sino-foreign cooperative schooling and constructing the comprehensive multidimensional cooperative model for the integration of the certifications of courses, education, and industrial-vocational qualification. The two parties will carry out international cooperation in generic hotel management professions to construct a higher vocational education system for Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and international hotel management professions. They intend to construct a top-ranking and world-renowned hotel management institute to contribute to the development of the international hotel industry in China.

After the inauguration and signing ceremony, professor of SCUT Li Li gave a keynote speech on " Comparative Study of Vocational Education Based on Applied Discipline Construction---Inspiration from Swiss Hotel Management Education".

In the summary, secretary of the Party committee Yang Xinbin said that the hotel industry of the Greater Bay Area is highly developed so there are great demands for the talent of high-end hotel service and management. The Swiss hotel industry is a benchmark of global hotel management education. It is an internal need for China's hotel industry development to construct a world top-ranking hotel management institute in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area in line with Swiss standards and combining Chinese characteristics. Shenzhen Polytechnic has its resolution and confidence to work with SEG hand in hand and deepen their cooperation in the fields of cultivating teaching teams, reforming teaching systems, and creating a better teaching environment. They will construct the Hotel Institute Montreux of Shenzhen Polytechnic to become a classic hotel management institute at home and abroad.
