On July 9, a symposium of valedictorians of the grade 2020 was held in Shenzhen Polytechnic. Yang Xinbin, secretary of the Party Committee and president of Shenzhen Polytechnic, Wang Hui, deputy secretary of the Party Committee and vice president Dong Chaojun, as well as persons in charge of secondary schools and relevant functional departments and 14 valedictorians, attended the symposium.

At the meeting, valedictorians first expressed their gratitude for the hard work of the teachers and wished the college a better future. Meanwhile, about 30 opinions and suggestions were put forward concerning the project of exam for upgrading from junior college student to university student, elective courses, specialty building, career planning, internship and employment, library management, minority student management, logistics management and services, use of teaching equipment, competition participation and support, social practice and other aspects. Later, school leaders and the persons in charge of the secondary schools and relevant functional departments listened to the students' opinions carefully and made responses to them.

President Yang summarized that through the severe struggle against COVID-19, graduates have experienced hardship, got developments, and realized the difficulty of the road ahead. As a crucial event in the graduation season, the graduation symposium is actually the last lesson for graduates before they enter society. Therefore, the college attaches great importance to their opinions and suggestions, tries its best to handle problems that can be solved immediately in time, and studies the plan after the meeting and takes countermeasures as soon as possible for other problems.

He also proposed three groups of keywords. The first one is "goals and dreams". He hoped that students can have a life dream and long-term goal, and work hard to realize them step by step. The second is "gains and losses", which means that students should have a correct view of gains and losses, be careful and responsible in their actual work, and develop critical thinking. The third is "diligence and success". They should keep in mind the ten thousand hours theory and only through diligent and regular life and work, they can have rich experience, wonderful careers, and outstanding life.
