The Opening Ceremony of the Reading Classes was Held in Conference Room 1, Tongde Building.

To help complete such tasks as the implementation of "Double High-Level Initiative" and "First-Class Initiative" with high quality and promote the professionalization, specialization, and expertization of the counselor team, from July 6 to 10, Shenzhen Polytechnic held the one-week training session on counselor vocational ability improvement in Conference Room 1, Tongde Building, Liuxiandong Campus. A total of 128 counselors participated in the full training session.

Yang Xinbin Delivers a Speech to Mobilize Counselors for the Training Session on Counselor Vocational Ability Improvement.

In the opening ceremony, Yang Xinbin, Secretary of the CPC Committee and President of Shenzhen Polytechnic delivered a speech to mobilize counselors for the training session. According to Yang Xinbin, the counselor team is an important team of teachers with professional knowledge background, and it is an important force for the development of the Polytechnic; counselors should keep forging ahead with determination and never slack off, to do the educational work of the new era well and contribute to the implementation of the "Double High-Level Initiative" of the Polytechnic. He said, counselors should work methodically and keep knowledge and experience accumulation, to summarize a complete set of solutions for work and improve work efficiency; Shenzhen Polytechnic should promote the professionalization, specialization, and expertization of the counselor team to help them achieve the best in work and cultivate more student work experts with influence among national counselors; Shenzhen Polytechnic should continue to strengthen the construction of the counselor team, take active steps to conduct the study on the growth of counselors, draw from the experience in the professional construction of counselors in famous colleges and universities at home and abroad, and implement the concept of being problem-, development-, and result-oriented.

Participating Counselors Listen and Take Notes Carefully in the Training Session.

During the training session, Zhang Nan, a counselor at Xi'an Jiaotong University, who had been chosen asthe National Counselor of 2019,was invitedto deliver the speech titled "Working Methods and Practice of College and University Counselors"; Kong Xianghui, a counselor at Liaoning Shihua University, who had also been chosen as the National Counselor of 2019, was invited to deliver the speech titled "Build Small Dormitories into the Big Stage for Ideological and Political Education; also, Chen Xiaohua, Deputy to the 19th National Congress of the CPC, who had been chosen as the National Counselor of 2016, was invited to deliver the speech titled "Practice on the Improvement of the Career Identity of Counselors". After listening to these speeches, all the counselors have understood more clearly the key emphasis, difficulties, and solutions of the student work for the implementation of the "Double High-Level Initiative". As the content of the training session was of practical significance to understanding students and carrying out student work, the training session will be of great help in deeply promoting the professionalization, specialization, and expertization of the counselor team of Shenzhen Polytechnic.

The training session lasted for five days and covered six themes including general abilities of counselors, Double High-Level Initiative, the CYL (the Communist Youth League) & student union work, work abilities, professional abilities, and mental health, 17 courses, seven sharing meetings, and lectures of professors from colleges and universities like Beihang University and East China Normal University.
