On October 19, the “Blockchain Technology Application” segment of 2023 National Vocational College Skills Competition was held in Hebei Software Institute. A total of 154 skilled players of 77 teams from various provinces and autonomous regions across the country competed on the same stage to show the results of blockchain talent training. Our students Fu Bo and Gao Xuliang from the School of Artificial Intelligence won the first prize of the national competition, and the instructors Yi Haibo and Li Ningbo were awarded as outstanding instructors.

The “Blockchain Technology Application” segment is a new competition added this year, corresponding to the blockchain industry of the national key digital economy. The competition includes three modules: blockchain product scheme design and system operation & maintenance, smart contract development and testing, and blockchain application system development, designed to comprehensively examine the professional core abilities and qualities of the players with respect to demand analysis and scheme design of blockchain system application, blockchain application and smart contract design and development, blockchain system test design, execution and analysis, blockchain system deployment, maintenance and monitoring, and front-end and back-end development of application software based on blockchain system.

Focusing on the national modern industrial system and Shenzhen’s “20+8” industrial cluster, our artificial intelligence blockchain major aims to further promote the industry-education integration and the science-education integration, and cultivate high-quality technical talents with blockchain skills. In recent years, the blockchain major has undertaken 1 NSFC general project and 2 youth projects, published more than 50 high-level SCI papers, held licensing of more than 80 domestic and foreign patents, and led the formulation of several standards for blockchain, Web3, quantum and metaverse, with 7 teachers and students awarded the title of “technical experts”. Next, the major will continue to deepen the cultivation of blockchain talents, and jointly with Tencent, WeBank, Baidu and other TOP50 blockchain enterprises in the world, improve the ability of key research on blockchain technology, and provide talent guarantee and intellectual support for Shenzhen to build a blockchain innovation leading zone and Hetao Shenzhen-Hong Kong Science and Technology Innovation Cooperation Zone.
