On May 14, the Blockchain Technology Application Competition of 2021-2022 Professional Skills Competition for Vocational College Students in Guangdong Province was held online. Two teams from the School of Artificial Intelligence, i.e. one team of Gao Xuliang and Chen Qinyu instructed by teachers Yi Haibo and Wu Zhangling, and one team of Fu Bo and Li Jiawei instructed by teachers Zhang Xiayan and Cheng Yepeng, scored 92 and 91, ranked second and third respectively, and both won the first prize in the province.

From last September, the School of Artificial Intelligence carried out several rounds of blockchain training among students and selected 4 outstanding students to participate in the competition. In order to better prepare for the competition, Zhang Xiayan and other blockchain participants overcame numerous difficulties and went to Foshan, where the competition was held, for training in advance. Later, due to the COVID-19, the competition was changed to the online form. As the online competition had extremely strict requirements on the venue, equipment, network and invigilation, and the preparation time was less than one week, the school attached great importance and tried its best to provide the venue and contact the information center to protect the network environment and ensure the smooth progress of the competition.

Since the blockchain major was established in 2021, a number of teachers and students have achieved good results in important competitions. Four teachers and students, in the form of teams, won the first and second prizes in the Shenzhen Blockchain Selection of the Second Vocational Skills Competition in Guangdong Province, and won the gold medal and the title of Guangdong Technical Expert in the Blockchain Competition of the Second Vocational Skills Competition in Guangdong Province. One teacher won the gold medal in the Blockchain Competition of the Second Vocational Skills Competition in Guangdong Province. One student won the first prize in the Lanqiao Cup provincial competition and was promoted to the national competition. Five students advanced to the final of Computer Design Competition for College Students in Guangdong Province. Four students formed a team to compete with doctors and masters, and become the only higher vocational team advancing to the CCF Sinan Cup final. The excellent results of this competition once again verified the strong strength of SZPT’s blockchain talent training.
