On November 14, the opening ceremony of online faculty training for mechatronics major construction and course system construction of German universities of applied sciences was held in Tencent Conference as scheduled. The training course was sponsored by the Sino-German Alliance for Integration of Industry and Vocational Education, organized by the Joint Conference on International Cooperation in Vocational Education and the Silk Road Alliance for Vocational Education, and strongly supported by Aalen University of Applied Sciences, University of Erfurt, and Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University. A total of 89 persons, including deans of mechatronics, heads of teaching and research offices, professional leaders and backbone teachers, from 27 key higher vocational colleges actively participated in the training. The opening ceremony was presided over by Jin Di, Director of the International Exchange Department of Sino-German Alliance for Integration of Industry and Vocational Education. Six teachers from the International Officeand the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering attended the training. Song Zhigang, a teacher of mechatronics technology from the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, made a speech as the representative of the trainees.

The training course lasted for a week, mainly delivered by four senior professors, i.e. Dr. Peter Eichinger, Director of the School of Mechatronics at Aalen University of Applied Sciences; Dr. Uwe Heiber of Natural Science in Mathematics at University of Erfurt; ProfessorDr. Christian Liebelt at Engineering at Dortmund University of Applied Science and Arts; and Professor Dr. Ulrich Schmitt of Engineering at Aalen University of Applied Sciences, involving the undergraduate education system in Germany and Europe, the differences and characteristics of colleges in vocational education on the undergraduate level in Germany, the system and organizational framework of colleges in Germany, the major construction system of vocational education on the undergraduate level in Germany and the specialty characteristics of mechatronics in different colleges for vocational education on the undergraduate level in Germany, which provides some references for the establishment of vocational education talent training orientation and training mode standard on the undergraduate level in China.

The faculty training course thoroughly carries out the General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important instructions on vocational education, earnestly implements the requirements on the vocational education teacher team construction in the new era in documents such as the Vocational Education Law of the People’s Republic of China, the Opinions of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council on Comprehensively Deepening the Reform of Teacher Team Construction in the New Era, and actively conducts foreign exchanges and cooperation with developed countries in vocational education to learn advanced experience, conducive to the construction of high-quality “dual-certificate” teachers, and the improvement of quality and empowerment for vocational education. Through the training, the participating teachers will understand the mechatronics curriculum system construction and talent training mode of application-oriented undergraduate vocational education in Germany, and learn how to perform the industry-education integration and school-enterprise cooperation based on local industrial characteristics, helpful to promote the planning and construction of undergraduate courses of intelligent manufacturing engineering technology and mechatronic engineering technology, provide referential and replicable experience for the high-quality development of undergraduate vocational education at SZPT, and cultivate more high-quality technical and skilled talents for the country.
