The national flag raising ceremony was held at the stadium of Liuxiandong Campus.

To celebrate the 73^rd anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China and promote the spirit of patriotism,on the morning of October 1, SZPT held a national flag raising ceremony at the stadium of Liuxiandong Campus. Yang Xinbin, Secretary of Party Committee, and Xu Jianling, Deputy Secretary of Party Committee & President of SZPT, attended the flag raising ceremony. Leaders of the Party and Government Office, Department of Publicity, Department of Student Affairs, Office of Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan Affairs and other functional departments, secretaries of Party committees (general Party branches), deputy secretaries, counselors and student representatives of all schools attended the ceremony.

At 8 o’clock in the morning, the flag raising ceremony officially began. The national flag guard formed by veterans, dressed in uniform, escorted the five-star red flag in goose steps to the flag platform. All teachers and students stood in awe,and focused attention, with excitement and joy, gazing at the five-star red flag rising slowly, feeling the solemn moment together, sincerely expressing patriotism, and wishing our motherland greater prosperity and strength.

Student representatives recited the poem “Chasing Dreams Forward” with music.

“From the founding of New China to the construction of Special Zone, from the reform and opening up to the turn of the century…the story of springtime, echoes are still ringing in the ears. Today, we are here playing the prelude of a new era!...with youth to respond to the call of the motherland, and with skills to achieve the beauty of life. Take the SZPT assault boat towards the bright and vast sky!” Student representatives recited the poem “Chasing Dreams Forward” with music, affectionately recounting the revolutionary heroes’ struggle for the founding of New China to create a happy and healthy homeland for the younger generation; and telling the stories of SZPT focusing equally on morality education and skills training and unremittingly pursuing self-improvement.

She said that as youth in the new era, we should actively respond to the needs and calls of the State, and master skills to serve our great motherland; we should strive to practice the oath of “being ready to build a powerful China”, walk forward along with the motherland in the same direction and frequency, and contribute our youth force to the early realization of our dream for the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation!

Xu Jianling presented the flag to the new national flag guard, and encouraged them to remember their original aspiration to love their country and school, keep in mind the mission of defending the national flag, actively engage in the practice of core socialist values, become a well-developed youth in the new era, and write a more beautiful new chapter for the national flag guard.

Yang Xinbin delivered a speech titled “Walk by light for a broader and longer journey”. He said that as students in higher vocational colleges, we should firmly grasp the opportunity brought by high-quality development of vocational education, hold a firm aspiration of acquiring skills to serve our country, and seek light to achieve a wonderful life with skills”; we should cherish our college life, study hard, and lay a solid foundation for our life and career, becoming a light seeker who can undertake the important task of national rejuvenation; we should foster a strong sense of family and country, consciously integrate our life ideals with the future and destiny of our country, let our youth force blossom in the places where our country and people need it most, and act as a light maker to lead the trend of the times.

Teachers and students passed the giant national flag together.

At the flag raising ceremony, teachers and students passed the giant national flag together. A giant national flag, 30 meters long and 20 meters wide, was held high and passed along with the melody of “Ode to the Motherland” among teachers and students. The giant national flag slowly moved over heads of all teachers and students. The students stroked, held and passed the flag with their hands, feeling the pride and powerful strength as the sons and daughters of China.

SZPT also organized a series of activities to celebrate the National Day, “Blessing together”.
