On July 8, the unveiling ceremony of Zhao Chunsheng Academician Workstation and Sun Lining Academician Workstation & Institute of Ultrasonic Technology was held at Conference Room 114 of Mingde Building. Zhao Chunsheng, Academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Sun Lining, Foreign Academician of Russian Academy of Engineering and other experts attended the ceremony by online means. Sun Nan, Party Member of Shenzhen Association for Science and Technology, Yang Xinbin, Party Secretary of SZPT, Xu Jianling, President of SZPT and Dong Chaojun, Vice President of SZPT, attended the ceremony by offline means.

In his welcoming speech, Yang Xinbin said that General Secretary Xi Jinping stressed at the 2021 Academician Conference of Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chinese Academy of Engineering that all-out efforts should be made in key core technologies, and more high-quality technical talents, skilled craftsmen and artisans should be trained for China as a great power. As the first speedboat for the innovative development of vocational education in China, SZPT always adheres to the “indomitable spirit” for the applied scientific research, focuses on the emerging and future sectors in Shenzhen, and further increases the introduction of high-level talents by successively introducing a number of major teams such as the team of Hoffmann as a Nobel Prize winner from the United States and establishing a series of high-end platforms, in order to tackle key technical issues for related sectors in Shenzhen. The establishment of the two academician workstations and the institute of ultrasonic technology marks a new stage of high-level talent introduction and scientific research platform construction at SZPT, which is of great significance for SZPT to enhance the level of scientific research innovation and social service ability, improve the talent training system of vocational education, and train skilled craftsman and artisans for China as a great power.

Academician Zhao Chunsheng and Sun Lining respectively congratulated on the establishment of the Institute of Ultrasonic Technology of Shenzhen Polytechnic via remote video connection. The two academicians affirmed the achievements made by SZPT in the introduction and training of high-level talents, the construction of high-level scientific research platform and the improvement of vocational education level; and expressed their hope to, through the establishment of academician workstations, further strengthen and expand the college’s influence and leading position in related scientific research fields, construct a domestic first-class and international advanced research & development platform, build an engine for industrial upgrading in the region, establish a higher-level platform for talent exchange and training, cultivate innovative talents, and enhance the scientific research capacity of teachers and their ability to tackle key technical issues, so as to better serve Shenzhen, and make more contributions to the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and even the whole country.

The establishment of the two academician workstations and the Institute of Ultrasonic Technology marks a new step in the field of intelligent manufacturing at SZPT. It is reported that Zhao Chunsheng Academician Workstation, Sun Lining Academician Workstation, and Institute of Ultrasonic Technology form an integral part of the Institute of Intelligent Manufacturing Technology of Shenzhen Polytechnic, which is a model for the development of specialized branches in the scientific research field, and also a fruitful result of exploring new modes of production, education, research and application of cutting-edge technology. The establishment of the three organizations has provided strong support for accelerating the innovative development of regional ultrasonic technology, strengthening technological breakthroughs and innovation in the field of intelligent manufacturing technology, promoting the deep combination of industry, education, research and application in the field of advanced intelligent manufacturing with higher vocational education characteristics, and driving the industrial transformation and development of Shenzhen and even Guangdong Province.
