Shenzhen Polytechnic Signs Cooperation Framework Agreement with Vocational Training Council (VTC)

The Third Working Group Conference on Vocational Education Cooperation in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area has been kicked off successfully.

The signing ceremony of Cooperation Framework Agreement between Shenzhen Polytechnic and VTC, and the Third Working Group Conference on Vocational Education Cooperation in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area were held.

 

On December 15, 2020, the signing ceremony of Cooperation Framework Agreement between Shenzhen Polytechnic and VTC, and the Third Working Group Conference on Vocational Education Cooperation in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area were held. Shenzhen Polytechnic and VTC hold the conference through online and offline channels. The signing ceremony of the cooperation agreement and the third working group conference were held.

Xu Kai, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Hong Kong S.A.R, Li Mei’e Permanent Secretary of Hong Kong Government Education Bureau, Zhou Qingbang, Director-general of Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic & Vocational Qualifications, Wu Yanling, Chief of the Division of Vocational and Permanent Education of the Department of Education of Guangdong Province, Li Jinjun, Director of Office of Hong Kong, Macao & Taiwan Affairs, and other leaders attended the conference and delivered speeches. Yang Xinbin, Secretary of the Party Committee and President of Shenzhen Polytechnic, and Tony TAI Chark-tong, Chairman of VTC, witnessed the signing of the agreement. Li Yue, Vice President of Shenzhen Polytechnic, and Carrie Yau, Executive Director of VTC, signed the cooperation framework agreement via the online platform.

At the signing ceremony, Yang Xinbin reviewed the history of cooperating with VTC, and indicated that this signing was an important step in the joint establishment of the "Featured Vocational Education Park in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area". At the first and second working group conferences on vocational education in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Shenzhen Polytechnic negotiated with VTC for many times, deciding to carry out cooperation projects in cooperatively-running schools, student exchange, and the internship and training of students. We also talked about other majors, such as building engineering, animation design, art and design and hotel management. The members of the working group have completed the drafting of the “Bidding Plan for Cooperation in Running School Between Shenzhen Polytechnic and Vocational Training Council”, and the "Construction Plan for Communication and Innovation Development Alliance for Young Students of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao”, and the cooperation between the two sides has achieved preliminary results. Finally, Yang Xinbin said that various departments and regions attach great importance to the construction of the vocational education field of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Shenzhen Polytechnic will shoulder its responsibilities, stay true to the original aspiration and founding mission, seize the historical opportunity, and work closely with VTC to build a model in the vocational education field of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and contribute to the development of the Greater Bay Area.

Li Yue and Dr Michael Wang Jianguo, Deputy Executive Director of VTC, attended the third working group conference. The group members introduced the situation of cooperation in running schools, research and development, and the communication alliance and internships for students in the Greater Bay Area. They also elaborated the current work progress and work plan for the next step. Li Yue praised the work progress and efforts made by the working group, and hoped that the two sides can complement each other and cooperate with each other, so that the cooperation project can achieve greater progress and results.

The signing of this cooperation agreement marks a new stage for the construction of the "Featured Vocational Education Park in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area" and draws a blueprint for the planning and development of the park. The third working group conference will promote both parties to further implement their works.

Relevant leaders and persons in charge from the Office of Hong Kong, Macao & Taiwan Affairs, Scientific Research Office, Youth League Committee, School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, School of Management, School of Art and Design, and School of Digital Innovation attended the conference.
