Recently, Zhang Fan, a full-time teacher of hotel management and digital operation in the School of Management, received an invitation from the UNESCO International Centre for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (UNEVOC) to become a member of the Asia-Pacific expert group for study on the green and digital transformation strategy in the tourism and hospitality sectors.
UNESCO-UNEVOC is one of UNESCO’s seven research centers in the field of education, which links UNESCO Member States around the world to develop and strengthen technical and vocational education and training. The expert group on tourism and hospitality comprises 20 experts from Europe, Africa and Asia Pacific.
Zhang Fan is one of the four members in Asia Pacific and the only one in China. During the study for her master’s degree at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, she participated in the research projects on the green transformation of the tourism and hospitality sectors, and published a number of SSCI Q1 papers. In addition, with rich working experience in the hospitality sector, she can offer advice on the green and digital transformation of the tourism and hospitality sectors from both academic and industrial perspectives. As a member of the expert group, Zhang Fan will continue to contribute Asian forces to the green and digital transformation in the tourism and hospitality sectors. (Lv Jing, School of Management)
