On November 6, Lin Weipeng, a teacher of cloud computing technology application from the School of Artificial Intelligence, made a successful breakthrough in the regional segment of the BRICS Vocational Skills Competition, played well in the final and ranked first with the overall score among contestantsfrom China, India, Russia, Brazil and Ghana,winning the gold medal in the final.

Thiscompetition focuses on key areas such as high-end manufacturing, digital economy, new industries, new forms of business and new technologies, serving as an important platform to promote the training of high-quality international talents in BRICS countries. The cloud computing segment is a singles event, consisting of two stages: regional and final. According to the national technical skill standards for cloud computing engineers and technicians, based on the demand for highly skilled talents in the course of national economic construction and development, combined with the actual needs of production and service work, by way of operation skill assessment, each contestant independently completed the assessment of three modules: private cloud platform deployment and operation & maintenance, container arrangement and operation & maintenance, and automatic deployment and operation & maintenance of enterprise-level applications. Each module lasted three hours, designed to comprehensively examine the practical skills and innovation capability of contestants in respect of cloud computing.
