School of Artificial Intelligence
[About the School] Established on April 27, 2019 by restructuring the former School of Computer Engineering, the School of Artificial Intelligence is co-located with the Department of Basic Computer Education. Now the School has 6 majors, 141 faculty members and more than 2,000 students. The computer application technology major starting from 1994 is a Class A major of Guangdong Province and has passed IEET certification. The software technology major set up in 2002 is a national-level core major, a model major and a Class B high-quality major of Guangdong Province. The big data technology and application major (formerly the computer information management major) set up in 2006 is a key major of Guangdong Province. Among all higher vocational colleges in China, Shenzhen Polytechnic is one of the first to set up cloud computing technology and application major (in 2016), virtual reality application technology major (in 2018), and artificial intelligence technical service major (in 2019). The three majors are under the School, among them, the virtual reality application technology major is a Class B quality major of Guangdong Province. With the approval of the Department of Education of Guangdong Province and the Administration of Commodity Prices of Guangdong Province, the School has started to cooperate with City University of Seattle in the United States to operate software technology major since 2012, and operated the undergraduate major of "Computer Science and Technology" jointly with Shenzhen University. Established in May 1995, the Department of Basic Computer Education (formerly the Computing Center) consists of an office, a computer and network basic teaching and research office and a computer application basic training room. It is mainly responsible for the management and maintenance of the equipment in the School's public computer room, the technical support for the School's office computers, the teaching of computer public courses, and the certification and management of students' computer application ability assessment.
The School has been successively granted the honors of Advanced Collective in the National Education System, Outstanding Contributor in the National Vocational Students Skill Competition and Advanced Education Institution in Shenzhen. It has 2 excellent teaching teams of Guangdong Province, 3 overseas high-level talents of Shenzhen City, 11 high-level professionals of Shenzhen City and 6 prominent teachers of Shenzhen City. It has 80 full-time teachers, who form a "double-qualified" team with modern educational concepts, high professional level, strong innovation ability, reasonable structure, cutting-edge science and technology and modern educational technology. Among them, 9 have senior professional titles and 48 have sub-senior professional titles; 21 have doctor's degree and 52 have master's degree.
The School has undertaken 11 teaching and research projects at the provincial and ministerial levels, won 2 second prizes of national teaching achievement, completed 7 national high-quality courses and 5 national high-quality resource sharing courses. It has also edited and published 98 textbooks for higher vocational education institutions, with 1 awarded the second prize of national high-quality textbook for regular institutes of higher education, and 3 rated as high-quality textbook by the Ministry of Education.
The School has one collaborative education platform of Guangdong Province, one public technology service platform under the Shenzhen Science and Technology Innovation Committee, one talent training support platform and two innovation service platforms under the Economy, Trade and Information Commission of Shenzhen Municipality, and four scientific research and innovation teams of Shenzhen Polytechnic. In recent years, the School has been in charge of 1 National 863 Project, 5 National Natural Science Foundations, 1 key breakthrough project in key fields of Guangdong and Hong Kong, and 10 natural science foundations and science and technology program projects of Guangdong Province.
To meet the needs of industrial development in the Pearl River Delta and Shenzhen, the School has in-depth cooperation with Huawei, Peng Cheng Laboratory, iFlytek, Baidu, Alibaba, Tencent, Oracle, NetDragon, Nanjing No.55 Research Institute of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and other enterprises. It has actively deepened the integration of production and education, and created the first Kunpeng Center of Huawei Cloud College in China, which is a model of school-enterprise cooperation.
The School attaches much importance to the development of students' professional and innovative abilities. Some students from the School have obtained high-level international professional qualification certifications such as OCM (Oracle Certified Master), HCIE (Huawei Certified Internet Expert), RHCA (Red Hat Certified Architect), CCIE (Cisco Certified Internet Expert). In various competitions such as the National Vocational Students Skills Competition, the College Students' Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, the Challenge Cup College Students' Extracurricular Science and Technology Works Competition, and the Blue Bridge Cup National Software Talent Design and Entrepreneurship Competition, our students have achieved remarkable results.
[Objectives] To cultivate comprehensive and innovative high-quality technical and skilled talents good at English and with international vision, proficient in mainstream software development technology, capable of adapting to software technology work in Chinese and English language environment, well versed in software development methods and computer system management, having a thorough knowledge of software engineers, capable of completing the design, development and testing of small and medium-sized software systems under the guidance of engineers, familiar with certain international software standards and norms, and capable of meeting the requirements of the frontline production and management in the computer software industry.
[Career selection] Students who meet the requirements after graduation can go to City University of Seattle in the United States for further study and obtaining a bachelor's degree and diploma in computer science. Graduates also can choose to engage in software system development, software testing, website system development and design or e-commerce in Party and government organs, enterprises and public institutions, software companies, etc. They have obvious competitive advantages especially in enterprises and public institutions and foreign-funded enterprises with outsourced software business from the Europe and the United States. The main posts suitable for our graduates are desktop application developer, website development programmer, website designer, e-commerce practitioner, computer and network management engineer, etc.
[Special notes]The School operates the 3-year Software Technology program in cooperation with City University of Seattle in the United States. American curriculum syllabus and English textbooks are applied for some core courses, which are taught in English by American teachers or in Chinese and English. In order to successfully complete their studies, students are required to have a good foundation in English learning. Students who complete their studies can obtain the diploma of our school and the diploma of City University of Seattle in the United States (a qualification certificate that enables the certificate holder to take the undergraduate program in City University of Seattle). Approved by the Administration of Commodity Prices of Guangdong Province, the tuition is RMB 15,600 / year.
[Objectives] To cultivate high-level and high-skilled talents proficient in Android/Mac iOS mobile application development, Web application system development and artificial intelligence system development, and capable of R&D, testing, operation and maintenance and technical service of software systems.

[Special notes] As of December 2019, a total of 57 students have obtained the Oracle Certified Master (OCM) certificate, and 5 students have obtained Huawei HCIE-BIGDATA Top Certification, which is highly recognized in the world.

[Special notes] This major is one of the first cloud computing technology and application majors in higher vocational colleges in China. The School has maintained in-depth cooperation with world-renowned enterprises such as Huawei, Tencent and Amazon to train cloud computing technology and technical talents that meet the requirements of enterprises in the industry. More than 30% of graduates can obtain international top-level skill certification upon graduation.
[Objectives] To cultivate high-quality skilled talents having a thorough professional theoretical knowledge of virtual reality technology and augmented reality technology, capable of software development and system integration for projects involving virtual reality technology and augmented reality technology (including advanced 3D model building, 3D animation making, virtual reality scene making, interactive function development, virtual reality software and hardware platform building and debugging), and competent for work such as the design, development and debugging of virtual reality technology and augmented reality technology projects.

The School has maintained in-depth cooperation with well-known enterprises such as Unity, NetDragon, 3glass and Feisi Future.Under the professional guidance of teachers, our students won the first prize of "Virtual Reality (VR) Design and Production" in the 2018 and 2019 National Vocational Students Skill Competition.
