Faculties

The School of Marxism, formerly the Ideological and Political Theory Course Teaching Department, was founded in January 2016. The School, located in the Liuxiandong Campus, is an independent secondary unit directly underShenzhen Polytechnic University, the department of teaching the Ideological and Political Theory Course and the research institution of Marxist theory.

The School has three teaching and research offices on "Introduction to Mao Zedong Thought and Theoretical System of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics", "Ideological & Moral Cultivation and Fundamentals of Law", and "Situation and Policies", and has established academic research institutions such as the Research Center of Ideological and Political Education, the Research Center of Curriculum Ideological and Political Education, the Research and Communication Center of Advanced Socialist Culture, the Research Institute of Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao, the Research Institute of Traditional Chinese Culture, and the Research Institute for the Studies of Youth.

The school has a high-quality faculty team valuing sound political cultivation, sincere care for students, new thinking, broad vision, strict self-discipline and high moral cultivation. The school has 42 full-time teachers, including five professors and 21 associate professors. Among them, 30 teachers hold doctoral degrees and 12 hold master's degrees. There is also one national backbone teacher in ideological and political education, one famous teacher of Guangdong Province, one publicity and theory talent of Guangdong Province, one five-star teacher evaluated by Shenzhen Polytechnic University and one famous teacher of Shenzhen Polytechnic University.

In recent years, the school has published five monographs and textbooks, established ten provincial and ministerial-level research projects and 14 municipal and department-level research projects, and published 120 papers. In terms of teaching achievements, the school has been awarded the first prize of Shenzhen Polytechnic University and the second prize at the provincial level.

The school has also been named an advanced education unit in Shenzhen in 2020, an advanced unit of Shenzhen Polytechnic University, an advanced primary-level party organization and has been included in the first batch of leading party organizations. Its teaching and research office on "Introduction to Mao Zedong Thought and Theoretical System of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics" has been named an exemplary teaching style group of Shenzhen Polytechnic University. In addition, more than ten teachers of the school have been included in the promotion groups on "Two Studies and One Action" and "Spirit of the 19th CPC National Congress" of the CPC Shenzhen Municipal Committee, and more than 50 lectures are held in and outside Shenzhen Polytechnic University every year. The School also holds the "Workshop for Backbone Teachers for the Ideological and Political Theory Course in China's Higher Vocational Colleges", which trains more than 60 teachers annually.

Currently, adhering to the concept of "upholding the truth, serving society and pursuing excellence", all teachers of the school are striving to enhance its core competitiveness and are making unremitting efforts to build it into a first-class school of Marxism under the vocational college in China as soon as possible.
