Live streaming:

Use the live streaming platform and software for online teaching, real-time interaction between teachers and students, and instant feedback of questions. Each course is provided in two live streaming sessions, and students in different time zones can choose the time that suits them.

Live streaming + recordings :

The live streaming delivery is combined with recordings. Students can study by themselves, and interact with teachers and classmates.

Each course has sixstudy hours per week, 17 weeks of teaching, in total of 102 hours.

Cultural lectures and cultural experience coursesas well as some vocational skill courses will be arranged every month to enrich the Chinese learning experience.

Elementary Chinese

Since 2004, Shenzhen Polytechnic has been recruiting self-financed international students and systematically offering Chinese language courses from level 1 to 6. The Elementary Chinese Course provides systematic and practical Chinese language study for Chinese learners living in China, enabling students to master Chinese listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills after completing the 300-hour course and be able to engage in daily communication in Chinese.

In the spring semester of 2021, we offered online course on basic Chinese study for Universidade Federal do Espirito Santo in Brazil. Through 88-hour language and culture courses, students have mastered Chinese phonetics, basic vocabulary, and grammar systematically and be able to communicate in Chineseindaily life.

 

Level 1

Credit Hours: 6 hours/week, 102 credit hours in total that need to be completed in 17 weeks.

Curriculum: Elementary Comprehensive Chinese (68) + Chinese Listening & Speaking (34)

Elementary Comprehensive Chinese provides Chinese language starter who hasn't learned Chinese systematically, mainly based on the teaching of Chinese phonetics, grammar, Chinese characters, words, and other language elements. Through classroom lectures, students gradually improve their verbal skills of listening, reading, and writing, and develop their skills of using Chinese for social communication; Chinese listening and speaking will be taught through topics in units so that students can practice daily listening and speaking, understand and master the basic language structure of daily oral conversation. After completing the two courses, students can master the basic language knowledge and conduct daily Chinese conversation. In the process of online learning, we will use the platform to make a detailed record of students' Chinese learning, and send students relevant audio-visual and speaking resources for Chinese learning, so as to provide them with opportunities to learn Chinese outside the classroom and lay a solid foundation for their lifelong Chinese learning.

Level 2

Credit Hours: 6 hours/week, 102 credit hours in total that need to be completed in 17 weeks.

Curriculum: Elementary Comprehensive Chinese (68) +Chinese Listening and Speaking (34)

Elementary Comprehensive Chinese provides basic Chinese language instruction for learners who have studied 100-150 hours of Chinese, reviews and trains students' comprehensive skills of listening, speaking, reading, and writing in elementary Chinese through knowledge of grammar, and develops students' verbal communication skills so that they have the basic ability to use Chinese and meet the needs of basic life, study, and social activities within a certain range. In the process of online learning, we will use the platform to make a detailed record of students' Chinese learning, and send students relevant audio-visual and speaking resources for Chinese learning, so as to provide them with opportunities to learn Chinese outside the classroom and lay a solid foundation for their lifelong Chinese learning.

HSK preparation Course

HSK 4 Preparation Course

Credit Hours: 6 hours/week, 102 credit hours in total that need to be completed in 17 weeks.

Course Framework: key language point learning + HSK exam lecture and practice + mock exam

The course is suitable for Chinese language learners who have passed HSK Level 3 or have the same level of Chinese language proficiency. The course adopts the HSK syllabus, centering on 20 topics such as love, friendship, health, job hunting, etc. Combined with the Chinese Proficiency Test questions, practices are provided so that students' learning can be promoted through exams. Through the Chinese Proficiency lecture and practice, as well as the theme learning, students can successfully pass the HSK Level 4 test after completing 102 hours of study.

HSK 5 Preparation Course

Credit Hours: 6 hours/week, 102 credit hours in total that need to be completed in 17 weeks.

The course is suitable for Chinese language learners who have passed HSK Level 4 or have the same level of Chinese language proficiency. Business Chinese Courses

Shenzhen Polytechnic offers business Chinese courses for Chinese learners of level 4-6, including Comprehensive Business Chinese and Business Chinese Reading and Writing courses, which include language practice, introduction to business etiquette, and specific business practice. We provide a brief introduction to the BCT Business Chinese Test to facilitate learners' participation in the Business Chinese Proficiency Test. The professors and teachers have corporate work experience, understand business workflow, and have many years of experience in teaching Chinese.

 

Business Chinese Basics

It is suitable for beginners who can communicate in a simple and limited way in Chinese. The course is organized in terms of topics and communicative functions, focusing on developing learners' ability to use Chinese for basic communication in daily life, simple social interactions, and general work. The course draws on the basic concepts of task-based language teaching, and the content chosen is based on communicative tasks common to life and workplace environments. Taking into account the learners' needs and Chinese language proficiency, all the tasks in the first stage of the course are daily life tasks, such as shopping, asking for ways, asking the time, talking about the weather, etc. The second stage not only extends and deepens the difficulty of the daily life tasks, but also adds some simple business tasks, such as currency exchange, interview, signing contracts, etc., to ensure that the content is closer to the daily life and work of business people and to enhance the practicality of the course. After completing the two elementary parts, learners will be able to use Chinese to communicate with others on everyday topics related to business activities and to complete simple business activities. It is divided into two levels, 102 hours for each.

Post-Intermediate Business Chinese

For non-native learners of the Chinese language who have studied Chinese for one to one and a half years and have an understanding of basic modern Chinese grammatical structures. The course takes Chinese for General Business Purpose or CGBP as the content and is divided into two levels, which are both interconnected and relatively independent. The course takes the visit of an American business delegation to China as a clue, and introduces typical scenes in business activities and related social and etiquette activities in order to meet the real situation of China's economic development. Most of the teaching materials are originals from business activities, trying to bring students into the real environment. The exercises are designed to incorporate the concepts of the communicative approach, task teaching, and cooperative learning, which are varied, lively, and inspiring.
