Shenzhen Polytechnic Orienteering Team Won 1st Prize in National College Orienteering Championship

Recently, the 2017 National CollegeOrienteering Championship has ended in Guangdong province. 202 teams from morethan 160 colleges in more than 20 cities participated in the event, includingstudents from Beijing University, Tsinghua University, China University ofGeosciences, Central University of Finance and Economics, Harbin Institute ofTechnology, South China University of Technology, Tongji University, SunYat-sen University and so on. It is the largest scale in the history of theNational College Orienteering Championship.


The event has seven projects, includingrelay race, short distance, middle distance, long distance, team race, scorerace and 100-metres of orienteering, lasted for 7 days. Under the guidance ofthe coaches, Shenzhen Polytechnic Orienteering Team played well, won the first prizewith three gold medals, one silver medal and seven bronze medals. The men'sgroup won the first prize with three gold medals. Li Jiafa was listed in"2017 National College Orienteering Team". And Shao Zhongqiang whowon the first prize in score race and 100-metres of orienteering last year alsowon the first prize in 100-metres of orienteering this year.


In the event, Guangdong province sent teamsfrom 19 universities, such as South China University of Technology, GuangdongUniversity of Foreign Studies and so on. The Polytechnic won the first prizeand defended the honor of Guangdong province.


Shenzhen Polytechnic Orienteering Team wasestablished in 2003 as one of the first college orienteering teams in Guangdongprovince. Under the leadership of three coaches, the Polytechnic developed manynational champions. In the future, the students of the Polytechnic willcontinue to create brilliance.
