    Ideal Friends in My Eyes

    Author :  Date : 2011-12-13 11:54:00

Everyone has friends. For my part, friends play an important role in our life. They not only share happiness with us, but also stay by our side whenever we need them. They are the helping hand when we get lost in the unpredictable sea of life. They are the sun when we are chilled by the cold wind of superficiality of human relations.

Generally speaking, friends can be divided into three types. The first one is nodding acquaintance. It means we greet with each other every time, but there’s no further communication between us. The second type is hypocritical friends, who get close to us for certain benefits. They share our happiness, but stay far away from us when we need their help. The last one is true friends, who are always with us and get us through setbacks no matter we are rich or poor. Obviously enough, the third kind is our ideal friends.

Personally, besides being a companion and supporter, ideal friends should have following characteristics. First, we should have common interest. Accordingly, we can share our inner world with each other. Second, they have to respect me, including every decision I make. People who flatter me but speak ill of me behind my back are not real friends. Last and the most important, ideal friends shouldn’t cheat me. They shouldn’t go back on their words, which, for me, is also a way of showing respect.

As the saying goes, there are thousand Hamlets in a thousand people's eyes. Everyone has different opinion about ideal friends in their eyes. What about yours?
