The School of Automotive and Transportation Engineering was founded in the year 2004, including four majors: Application of automobile, Auto service and marketing, Auto electronics and Traffic safety/intelligent control.  Many professional and experienced talents are serving for The School of Automotive and Transportation Engineering, including 57 employees and 25 lecturers, 4 of which have Ph.D degree, 28 of which have MS degree and 11 of which are senior lecturers.

The goal of the School of Automotive and Transportation Engineering is to output the first class skilled technicians to serve for the china’s auto industry. Emphasizing on bridging the auto market and teaching focus, The School of Automotive and Transportation Engineering always exerts to cultivate her students’ ability of applying both of their technical and management knowledge to their future careers and our country’s development. The School of Automotive and Transportation Engineering has founded more than 40 certified training bases and tens of companies for the student training, which provide valuable opportunities for the students to improve their technical skills. From the year 1996, The School of Automotive and Transportation Engineering made significant achievements by outputting more than 1000 talented students to the society. More than 98% of the graduated students work in their desired positions and are actively serving to the auto industry, such as auto repair, auto market, quality evaluations, traffic controls, etc. In recent years, the employment “take-up” rate has also been above 98%. Employers tell us our graduates are easily assigned, are easily trained on-the-job, and become excellent members of staff.

Application of automobile

The specialty of Application of automobile is characterized by a good command of the ‘cutting edge’ autos, the structures and working principles of electronic control systems, the ability to test the performance and pinpoint malfunctions with sophisticated instruments, good driving skills, competence in auto service, testing, disorder detection and management, and automotive appraisal. Two sub-specialties, automobile testing and malfunction detection, and automobile appraisal are available.

The specialty of Auto service and marketing is characterized by a basic knowledge of auto structure, performance and the working principles, a combination of theoretical and practical command of auto electronic technology, performance testing, malfunction detection and auto service, successful marketing of autos and auto parts, a first-hand knowledge of auto trading and sales, customs declaration for auto imports and exports, with an aim to foster compound talents with great abilities in marketing and general business on one hand, and those in enterprises running and management on the hand.

The School of Automotive and Transportation Engineering has an effective and cooperative teacher team. Professional teachers take effort in improving their teaching skills as required by the school. Currently, teachers in our school have more than 70 kinds of certificates as senior engineer, engineer, economics, assistant engineer, technician, training lecturer, senior evaluators, evaluator, senior worker, junior worker, senior salesman and old vehicle evaluators, etc. Most of teachers has two or more certificates.

Our Research

The School of Automotive and Transportation Engineering takes teaching seriously. Professional teachers host or take part in more than 20 teaching and research projects including 2 from the Ministry of Education, 3 from the province, and 3 from the college. We got 2 second prize from the province, 1 first prize and 1 second prize from college. We published 13 textbooks including 2 of state standard textbooks.

The teachers of The School of Automotive and Transportation Engineering are good at the research. In recent years there are more than 30 types of scientific research projects, of which 3 projects at the provincial level, 4 at the municipal level; 2 national invention patents, 2 utility model patents. Automotive Technology Center

The Automotive Technology Center is our on-campus training base, with an investment exceeding 10 million yuan from SZPT, serving the multiple functions of teaching, training, research and service. The center covers 2,300 square meters and the autos, parts, and equipment for testing and repair, totals investment of over 7 million yuan. This includes 10 sophisticated cars as the AudiA4, Regal, Lexus, and Camry. Among the parts and supplies, engines of all the latest cars have been built into frames, and maintenance tools and equipment for specific autos are also available, including 5052 (from Volkswagen), and the TECH2 (from GM).

Besides, training rooms featuring standardized auto engines, automatic transmission, chassis and electronic controls are also jointly established by both SZPT and allied enterprises. Some leading automotive service and marketing companies have also joined the efforts to build the center into a first-class training base.

The spacious and well-lit training rooms, complete with sophisticated equipment, strict and standardized rules, and around-the-clock open time, all play their roles in turning out technical and managerial talent in the fields of auto technology and servicing.
