     The school was established in 2004, with four specialities, Nursing (including nursing, midwifery and dental care), oral medical technology, ophthalmology and optometry technology and rehabilitation technology. There are 740 students, Of the 39 faculty members, 4 are professors, 10 are associate professors, 88% of professional teachers with a master's degree or above and 80% are double-qualified teachers. A group of experts and scholars who have clinical teaching experience have been hired to serve as part-time teachers in our school.

    The academy attaches importance to the student ability to innovate and carries out the technical ability culture, own true advanced model teaching equipment. New academy campus area (the north campus) is located at the northwest of the east campus, the environment is graceful, is take up 100,000 square metres field, is invest amounting to 90 million yuan, general built-up area is close 28,000 square metres, own the independent teaching building, library, training building, mess hall, student apartment house, lecture hall and stadium .all of this have been put in use in succession. The school has more than 30 practice base in all kinds of hospitals, and the related enterprises in Shenzhen. The internships rate of students is up to 100%, the recommendation of the employment rate has reached 100%. The rate of employment in 2007 has reached 98.83%, meanwhile, both 2008 and 2009 has reached 100%, and the nursing and midwifery graduates can also participate in the staff examination of the State.

    The school have expanded international cooperation and exchange in a wide range, which are designed to give the students easier access to go abroad for further education and enter a profession. The University of Wolverhampton in United Kingdom has designed co-curriculum for our students specifically. The graduates can apply for Accelerated Degree Program of the University of Wolverhampton of Bachelor of Health Sciences and Master of Public Health directly. The "3+1" cooperative education agreement is also signed with the University of Cumbria for helping the graduates of nursing upgrade from junior college student to university student. The cooperation project with Zi Qing Institute of Osaka in Japan is progressing well, and a group of outstanding students have been to Japan each year for short-term visit studying.

    The Major of Rehabilitative technology

    The experts from WTO give rehabilitation a definition: “the rehabilitation refers to decreases the infection from the deformity and lead the disabled to return to the society by any applicable measures.”

    Target: To cultivate the talents who process not only the basic knowledge of Physics and Clinical Physics, but also the skills of contemporary treatment technology and Chinese traditional curing techniques. With these knowledge and skills, they can work on the positions of rehabilitation functions assessment, rehabilitation training, rehabilitation service and rehabilitation management.

             Brief Introduction to Elementary Medicine Office

    The preclinical medicine teaching office was founded in 2005. At present, there are five full-time teachers including two associate professors , two instructor and one teaching assistant in this office, among them ,two have doctorate degrees. The preclinical medicine teaching office possesses two teaching lab centers, the Anatomy Lab and the Functional Lab. Now, the department takes charge of eight preclinical medicine courses teaching mission for the five specialities of the School of Medical Technology and Nursing. They are human anatomy, human anatomy & physiology, biochemistry, human physiology, immunology & microbiology, pathology, pharmacology and oral pharmacology. In addition, the department also take responsibility some lessons for other schools.

     

    Medical Technique & Nursing Institute Experiment Room 

    This experiment room was founded in August, 2004, with a total 1700 square meters. The subsidiary experiment rooms include: Nursing technique experiment room (basic nursing, gynecologic Medical Technique Experiment Room (Stomatology Technique, Ophthalmic Technique, Convalescence Technique), and Medical foundation Experiment Room (Hyperfunction, pharmacology, dissection). With 5 professional management staffs on experiment room, two of them have high-title, intergraded-title conferred upon other three. All of them have the related professional certificate. 27 vocational teachers are engaged in experiment teaching, 5 doctors, 14graduates, 4 professors, 10 associate professors.

    Currently, five professional experiment rooms are carrying through experiment teaching. In 2007, Gynecologic Experiment Room and Stomatology Experiment Room applied and got the qualification certificate, which approved by named training and evaluation centre/location of national sanitation department’s maternity and child care and stomatology rehabilitate staff. Medical & Nursing Experiment Building will establish in February 2010, with a total 7500 square meters. It is an integration experiment room with teaching, research, training and review.
